Vivienne heard the voice. It felt soft as the words met her, but drove a chill down her spine. Childish giggles, it was high-pitched. It was certainly bringing her a haunting feeling as she considered its words. How strange, but it seems I'll have little choice but to investigate the ongoing here, Vivienne thought as she tossed her remaining words at the guards, seeking to keep them incapacitated. Like she had guessed, she watched as Shinzu ran into the building. She tailed him as quickly as she could, not letting him out of her sights. "Wait up, this isn't exactly the best entrance we should be going in you know!", she said to him.
She huffed at him, pouting as she followed. "Its unlike you to run off like that, please refrain from leaving me alone my magic isn't the best for combat.", she said to him. She knew that he had likely ran off after the mysterious light that had appeared, but whether that was true she would have to ask. "Besides, like I said before we shouldn't just rush off into the entrance like this, what if those guards are to recover? It would be a shame if we got trapped in here.", she added, trying her best to convince him to turn around. She doubted he would listen though, after all they were already inside and even she had to admit that they might as well move on and keep going.

The light danced onward as the phantom Shinzu and Viv seemed to follow en suite, dancing side to side with little giggles. "You'll have to get me! I seeee you" The childish giggle emitted through the air, seeming to bounce off the walls. "You won't get far ~" With that spoken, the light separated into different little orbs and went through the hallway; separating into three different doors. "I could be in this room or that room OH! OR EVEN THAT ROOM!"
The one that had spoke to the real Shinzu mused over his little ball of light, seemingly having sussed out a different way which the creature marvelled as he did so. Floating down the stairs, it formed into a small blue fox which danced side to side excitedly; lashing its tail with a miasma like substance floating around it. "I see you, Mr Blue!" Cried the voice from around. The fox danced away down the halls, its tail flicking around. "I could be in this room or that room OH! OR EVEN THAT ROOM! You'll never guess!"
Taylor seemingly had figured out the most simplest of codes, but where there were numbers, there was also different ways. If typed wrong, the door would give a warning light. This would be then repeated two more times before the buttons would freeze and refuse any code placed after as well as send off an alarm which can only be disabled by a key card. Luckily, however, Taylor had managed to press the right code and the light turned green. With a click and shudder, the door swung open and the lights flicked on to reveal stairs leading down a floor and another set leading up.

“No. It isn’t the best entrance, but what we require now isn’t the best.” As usual, the doppelganger’s voice was monotone and cold. Conversing with the creature would likely give Vivienne chills similar to what she had just experienced with the giggling ball of light. “At least you have magic. My only purpose here is to die.” From that sentence alone, Vivienne would probably be able to guess that this wasn’t the real Shinzu. Even with her limited interactions with the guild master, the contrast in personality and mannerisms were simply far too obvious.
“The guards won’t recover.” It stated coldly with an almost sinister certainty. “Besides, regardless of the situation, you will escape in the ideal scenario. I will then be left behind at the mercy of the guards, at which point I will have fulfilled my orders and fade away like an illusion. If things go well and we play our cards right, we could even shift the blame to Phantom Cloak. Make it out as if we were never here and what the guards experienced was nothing more than a plot by Phantom Cloak members to besmirch Lion Heart’s good name.” While the plan was a bit of a stretch, luckily in the world of magic, such things were more than possible.
“Let’s go.” The clone commanded as the ball of light split and escaped behind three different doors. “If we split up, I fear I will be useless.” Though the doppelganger wouldn’t admit it directly, it was utterly incapable of using magic. In fact, not wanting to trigger any magical sensors, the clone itself had been created by Shinzu with no real combat capabilities either. It was simply nothing more than a tangible ghost. “Then again, splitting up increases our odds of finding whatever we need to. Your call.” The ghoul appeared to be in a bad mood. It clearly did not like uncertainty or thinking for itself in such situations. At this point, it was up to Vivienne to make the right call.
------
Shinzu held his breath as the fox-like creature waved its tail in the air with little to no grace. “I have been poisoned enough this month.” The guild master would then shrug at the thought. Perhaps he was just being overly cautious at the strange miasma-like substance oozing from the creature’s tail. Then again, there was no such thing as too cautious when it came to Shinzu.“Tch.” Only annoyance would escape Shinzu’s lips as the fox vanished into a long hallway. “Which door?” He said to himself whilst taking the opportunity to exhale before he could completely pass out from the lack of oxygen. With the fox-creature gone and nothing visible in the air, breathing would at last present itself as a safe opportunity. “This one…?” With little else to go on, Shinzu would simply rely on his heightened sense of hearing. Whatever that fox was, it appeared to have difficulty keeping quiet. With that in mind, the guild master would simply enter the door that he felt the sound was coming from. If his sense of hearing presented nothing useful, however, then he would simply pick a door at random and rely on chance to dictate his fate.
Heightened Senses: Life in the arena helped hone Shinzu’s senses to the point where his gift of hearing reached a level far above his peers. Although there is nothing supernatural about his ears, Shinzu can often pick out quite a high level of detail from a simple sound, such as being able to judge distance and the direction of the source much better than a normal person. This acute level of hearing also allows Shinzu to pick out sounds that may otherwise be inaudible, such as honing in on a whisper amidst a crowd or being able to audibly recognize subtle noises such as the rustle of a nearby bush.

Taylor's prayers were answered. The moment her thin fingers left the keys, a green light lit up and there was a heavy clunk as the lock slid out of place from its latch in the wall. Taking a deep breath, the young mage gripped the handle with surprising confidence, swinging the door open with as much force as possible. It swung wide, and crashed into the wall behind. Taylor looked despairingly at the wall where the door had hit, watching as a small piece of the wall crumbled and fell down with the force that had hit it. She shook her head. They should have invested in door stops.
Taylor waited by the side of the door, taking a quick peak into the room. Upon seeing no one, she burst through the open doorway, ready to take out anyone on the sides who might have been waiting for her. Her black hair flew around her face as she looked quickly from right to left, but, to her surprise, no one was there. She took a quick look back behind her to make sure the guard did not suddenly decide to come back, and then quickly descended the stairs. If the mysterious man's diagram was right, then the power supply was down there. If she could disable the supply, then she could also disable the magic sensing system.

Vivienne wanted to hit him. But she found the strength to save it. She'd deliver it properly to the real Shinzu later, getting the understanding that it wasn't the real one. "I'm overjoyed at how optimistic you are my dear, you know pessimism isn't very fitting of you.", she said to fake. "But I am pleased that you have thought this far ahead. I didn't think the guild master could be that clever even if he tries, it just doesn't seem to suit him.", Vivienne said as she began thinking of how to proceed. Sure they could cover more ground by splitting up, but if Vivienne was caught alone she would most likely be captured. It would be a shame, a great one if I was to be found, she thought.
She clasped her hands together. "We're sticking together. I'm not sure what you're capable of and I know my combat success will be very low. Avoiding combat should be the number one priority.", she said to the clone. Vivienne walked towards the left-most door, one that the strange light had passed through. "Well go through this door first. Tch, this has certain become a painful procedure hasn't it? At least you don't have to deal with any sour taste that remains in your mouth.", Vivienne said as she pushed the door open slowly, trying not to garner the attention of anything or anyone behind the door. It would be highly probable that there are some guards inside, I sincerely pray we do not have to meet them, she thought, keeping her eyes peeking past the door.

The fox that Shinzu had chased after dove into a room and seemed to vanish. As the girl trilled words teasingly, he began to open a door and the room revealed a lot of test tubes. Inside a test tube was a girl with long black hair that covered her ice-white face and a long torn blue dress. Her body was floating and she looked as pale as a person with lack of blood. Another tube possessed a lot of wires that wrapped around all the way to the top and draped down. There were so many of them that looked so much like vines in a jungle. The room was poorly lit and the only sources of light were the tubes with the light blue liquid in. On a plate that was on the test tube with the girl in were the words: "Child of the devil. Test 1: Child shown no sign or reaction to the deadly crows until today. Locked away to let it manifest." A tube sat next to that one with a woman whose only cover was her hair that seemed to weave around her body. Her hair was a bright blonde with a long white strand going over her forehead and down the centre of her head. On her arm looked like a tattoo to a guild, but very faded. The plate beneath her was very worn out. "Test 45. T s wo a w s f nd in the w and in red. A ma e, we deed to pl e r in he and te th vir n her. So fr reac ing wll, t her h rt stop. She's jst flong crpe no. A lot of other tubes were still empty, but it seemed like they were planning to place things inside.
The blue fox appeared at the very bottom of the room, its snow-white fur lighting up the room and it yapped while watching Shinzu from afar. Scratching at the ground with a whimper, it turned on its heels and leaped into the wall; its body disappearing through the wall and the last thing seen was its tail. "There's more doors!" A playful cry escaped the area. Voices can be heard coming from another door in the hallway.
As Taylor progressed down the hallway, she came close to the control panel where all the buttons were with cameras to each and every single room. Buttons aligned the control panel which linked to the cameras. On the large screen above was cameras that marked almost every room. Shinzu appeared on one of the rooms whereas Viv on another. There was a blue spirit dancing around and a small giggle echoed through the building. A face, small and pale appeared on the screen for a brief amount of time. Her teeth were crooked and her face a cream. Her red eyes watched Taylor before she giggled once more and then poof! Disappeared. The cameras seemed to flicker as the system switched between each camera. Pressing a certain number can cause the camera to get larger.
There was a manual book on the control panel's table. There was a notepad on the side with ideas on how to not only help the virus spread, but to also cure it with the sign for jewels (no idea what it looks like) scribbled in huge, bold pictures on the pad.
As they opened the door, the light blue orb waved side to side with a little ringing sound. A maniacal giggle echoed through the hall and the ball of light collided into the walls causing the walls to light up with little blue marks wherever it hit. As it made its way up the stairs and collided with every wall and made markings before floating down the hall at a slow speed. When it reached a door and floated through it before floating out it again and then bouncing on the spot in mid air. As it floated into the door once more, the door flung open and a cluster of guards sprung out. These guards being nothing like the ones before. They were heavily armoured and their eyes were glowing red and yet a stench of decay was emitting from them with a blue aura circling around them. "Someone! HELP ME!" A haunting voice cried from inside the room. "Please!" It sounded desperate and the sound of rattling emitted from the room.

Shinzu would cringe as he opened the doorway. Unsure of what he was looking at, his eyes simply skipped from wire to wire before they would focus on one contraption in particular that held a black-haired girl. “Child of the devil?” Shinzu would read out the words in his mind. Unsure of what to make of all this, he could only assume the worst. “The DCD… Did it originate here?” The guild master would then turn his attention towards another tube that held a blonde-haired lady, however, this time he would be unable to gather any meaningful information from the plate below her. “All this… Right under my nose...”Shinzu’s rage would subside as the blue fox creature appeared once more. “What is that thing… A spirit?” Not willing to allow it to escape, Shinzu would exit the room cautiously before relying on his sense of hearing which would lead him to one door in particular. Rather than barging in mindlessly, he would press his ear against the door and attempt to make out the voices. If he sensed danger, such as the sound of riled up security guards, then he would simply back away and attempt to pick another room randomly. However, if the voices picked at the guild master’s curiosity, then he would make no effort to restrain himself. He would simply enter and deal with the consequences despite his better judgement.------ “It is difficult not to be pessimistic after dying. You will realise that too one day.” For the first time, the doppelganger would begin to show the slightest signs of a personality to Vivienne. Albeit a rather morbid one. “Indeed. It is a wonder how your guild remains in a positive light despite Shinzu’s reluctant rise to power. A position of that level of authority never did suit the boy… Though, that’s what he gets for making promises with the former master.” The creature would then sigh before shrugging. “And that’s where you are wrong. Nothing but bitterness and regret exists in my mouth.” The doppelganger would then fall silent as Vivienne opened the doorway. It clearly seemed reluctant in wanting to reveal any more about itself.“Well then. Brilliant decision making.” The doppelganger would sigh as the door burst open to reveal a cluster of violent guards. If not for the sarcasm, the creature would appear completely emotionless at the impeding danger. “Do what you will.” The clone would take a few steps forward and extend its arms outwards towards its side in order to make itself as large of a target as possible for the army of guards. “Unfortunately, magic sensors or not, I am unable to do much in this situation other than offer myself up as a shield. Try not to let yourself get bit, for all we know they could be infected with that magical bird virus.”

Taylor gave a short tch. This was room was not the power supply. The room was completely dark except for the brightly lit screens in front of her. The cameras, each scene showing a different room, cast an filtered glow across Taylor's suit. She narrowed her eyes, staring at the screens with intensity. Different rooms appeared in front of her, each of them either poorly lit or having a stinging white light. Taylor crossed her arms over her chest. She watched as the pictures circled through. Suddenly, a face appeared before her, causing Taylor to take a defensive step back with one hand on her gun. She relaxed immediately as soon as she realized that the face was on the screen. But that face- that haunting, ominous face- seemed to be looking at her. And those red eyes-- those eyes looked exactly like Taylor's. She frowned again as the screen switched to a new room again. This time, Shinzu appeared, with giant test tubes holding some unknown entity. Taylor rushed forward, pressing her hand in a tight fist against the screen. He ran to a different room, and the camera switched again. At least she knew that he was not dead yet. Taylor looked to the desk, the screens no longer holding her attention. She studied the note pad. The words virus and were enough to cue her in on what was happening in this lab. Taylor moved on to the manual, quickly reading through the Table of Contents. She wanted to know if she could shut the power off, if at all. As mages, they needed to use magic. Especially if they were attacked. Taylor glanced up at the screen. A second Shinzu, with Vivian were about to get swarmed by guards. If they could just hang on a few more seconds-- |

It seems in they hung out for a good time. As the possessed guards fell to the ground in a pile of bones, rusted armour and ash; the child's voice gave a demented growl as the faint sound of haunted steps thumped across teh floor. "NO fair!" Cried the voice before it formed into a demented giggle. "It's no biggy, though. I can just --- WHAT!?" The voice grew bewildered. "No! Get away from my control - DON'T PUSH THA-" The voice clawed at the air in a shriek as Taylor worked on the keys. "NO FREAKING WAY!" The child's voice began to tremble and she pushed up to the screen. "How can you figure out my plan from a book?" Her red eyes glared at Taylor.
"Fine, then. Good luck getting out alive! This building is going down with everything in it!" The building began to crumble as the machines and tubes began to shiver and quake like an earthquake was beneath them. Bits of rubble fell all around the people. "Good bye, see you on the other side." The small light blue balls formed together and appeared in front of Taylor. "Good luck!" Disappearing through the walls, the ball of light vanished into thin air while the building began to tear a part around them; floors collapsing in on each other. Holes appeared beneath all of them except Taylor causing them all to fall down and land next to her. -Finish-
