After an interesting training session that morning Taichi decided to drop by the guild shop. As the morning started coming to an end the sun warmed up the air, it was another beautiful day in Magnolia. He felt good about today, feeling cheerful as he walked from his house to the shop, passing through the town with a jump in his step. The guild shop was close by the guild building in a public area where both Fairy Tail members and Citizens came to get the latest merchandise.
The shop wasn’t inside a building but was more like a market stand, but bigger! It was made of sturdy wooden planks and had many racks of merchandise in front and behind the counter. Tending to the shop was a male mage that enjoyed guild activities that involved communications, hence why he was in the guild shop, a good way to get in touch with many different people. He had short black hair with a pair of goggles above his forehead, and dark blue eyes that would remind many of the night sky. He waved at Taichi as he saw him approach.
“Abel! Long time no see!”
“Indeed. Did you come check out the latest merchandise? We have new belt buckles.”
“Huh really? Let’s have a look”
Abel lifted a box with the same buckle Taichi was already wearing, though instead of plain silver steel they were now available in various types of colours.
Taichi couldn’t help but chuckle at it “Interesting, interesting. But I can’t spend my jewels on things I don’t need now can I...”
“Oh? Then what are you here for? What could you possibly need other than a belt?”
Taichi nonchalantly leaned against the counter with his right arm, a bit of a naughty look on his face. “Oh.. You know.. The thing I asked about last time..?”
Abel couldn’t really recall anything, until his facial expression sunk like a man in quicksand. “You can’t be serious…”
Taichi grinned and blew his whistle. “Come on, it’s been weeks since I asked about it!”
Abel tried hard not to face palm at his ridiculous request. “How is a whistle any different from your belt, you already have one!” he sighed hoarsely. “It’s supply and demand Taichi.. So far you’re the only customer interested in buying a customized whistle. We need more demand if we are to supply, simple as that.”
Taichi leaned over the counter in disappointment and started to sob “Ah Abel… I thought we were friends.. Friends help each other out..” He softly and disappointedly blew his whistle, leaving Abel no other choice then to face palm.

With her hood over her head and her arms wrapped tightly around a brown paper bag filled with cakes and sweets from her job, Syana's green eyes focused on ahead. She was careful to weave through the crowd, her ears listening out. She was not going to have anybody talk to her and disrupt her from her destination. She wasn't going to get put into the same situation that she had once put herself in. The world opened up to her then and it dawned on her that no place was safe, not even her own town that she grew so very fond of. Walking past the alleyway where she was taken from her journey and placed into an empty, old warehouse; she couldn't help but recollect all the wrong doings that happened from there until her rescue. Standing still, she turned her gaze towards it; memories rolling through her mind and the sight of animal bones sitting in some ash. It looked like someone had roasted or cooked them. The ash was nearly gone and the ground was charred with bits of leftover bone fragments and fur here and there. Syana didn't want to know what happened there, she didn't want to be near that alleyway.
Proceeding onward, she found the familiar sight of the place she had managed to rejoin. The guild she loved, Fairy Tail. With quick, swift movements and the bag rustling in her clutches, Syana's footsteps moved at a quickened pace towards the building. When she drew near, the faint sound of whistling caused her ear to perk and her green eyes move its direction from the building to the cute little stall that sat outside. The light mage turned towards its direction, catching sight of two men talking over some products that was sat nestled on the front of the stall. Standing from afar, Syana watched with curiosity. Clutching onto the bag tightly Syana made her way over to the men and stopped when she was nearby. Peering at the fares, she looked between the two. Her hood shrouding her face and her hands tucked either side of the brown paper bag. One would surely question her attire if they weren't used to seeing her around, after all she was not only known around the place for being the happy cheerful mage that one could love, but also for being quite possibly the strongest mage within the guild as of yet. The vice-guild master's green eyes focused down at fairs for a while longer before she took a step closer and leaned over to gaze at them.

Abel patted him on the back “Why don’t you just get your own whistle customized then?”
Taichi spat out his whistle, leaving it to dangle around the cord on his neck. “That’s not the same, it needs to be authentic..” he leaned over the counter even more and continued to dangle over it and mope.
Abel groaned, “Either way, don’t just linger over the counter like some weirdo!” grabbed Taichi’s shoulders and pushed him back. “Geez, you’re scaring away the”- Syana took him by surprise, leaving him to wonder just how long she had been standing there. He didn’t recognize her with the cape however and looked at her apologetically. “I’m sorry about that, my name is Abel. And that guy is Taichi, he may seem loony but he’s harmless I promise. It’s really nice to meet you”
“Hmm…” Taichi glared at the cloaked girl, curious about the mystery that was the person underneath the hood. He stepped closer, and closer, eventually leaning forward so he could get an up close look of her face. “Hmmm..”
Abel was shocked seeing him get so close to her and had a fearful expression, knowing he was most likely going to get slapped or yelled at for invading personal space.
Thankfully Taichi was quick to withdraw with a happily surprised face. “Oh, if it isn’t Syana!”
“S-Syana!?” Abel could barely forgive himself for not recognizing her and started bowing apologetically “I’m terribly sorry, I didn’t recognize you because of your clothes! Sorry..”
Taichi on the other hand looked at her like he was criticizing a piece of art, “Abel’s got a point, you used to dress much cuter..” only to instantly change composure and appear happy to see her. “Anyway, it’s been a while so it’s nice to see a familiar face again! What’s up?”
Abel frowned with concern knowing this was a sensitive subject with what happened to Syana recently, and quickly interrupted. “Taichi you shouldn’t- Why don’t we have a look at the new inventory instead? We’ve got lots of cool new items”

Completely zoned out with great fascination over the new items that sat in a wide array of colours and styles on the stall table. She leaned close to look at them with a deeper inspection before suddenly hearing the sound of a panic voiced. Her green eyes lifted up in surprise, taking notice of the man who stood there panicked. She could barely remember his name, but the smile he gave her caused her to cock her head in a smile and watch him. “I’m sorry about that, my name is Abel. And that guy is Taichi, he may seem loony but he’s harmless I promise. It’s really nice to meet you” Syana cocked her head; her hood flopped against her cheek and fixing the shoal that draped loosely around her body.
"Hmm…” Syana took a step back as the man introduced as Taichi examined her. She gave him a warm smile, adjusting the bag between her grasp. "Oh, if it isn’t Syana!” Taichi seemed to have registered who she was. The girl looked to the side and around, pretending to act like she didn't know who he was on about before nodding her head profusely with a silent laugh. "S-Syana!?” Abel seemed to be incredibly shocked. The poor man seemed like he was scared, but she didn't necessarily feel like he needed to feel so shocked or scared. Her green eyes focused on him with worry as he bowed apologetically, repeatedly. Lifting her hands up and shaking them in a dismissing manner which seemed to go in vain, especially with the bag being clutched between her arms awkwardly so it didn't drop. “I'm terribly sorry, I didn't recognize you because of your clothes! "Sorry..” With that said, the light mage just couldn't help but reach out to lean forward and give a reassuring touch of the shoulder that was until Taichi began to inspect her much more in depth. Leaning back slowly and standing up tall and straight she let him give his diagnosis.
"Abel’s got a point, you used to dress much cuter..” Looking down at her own clothes, Syana's green eyes scanned her apparel. From what she could gather, everyone she knew registered exactly who she was just from her unique sense of fashion. It was always like that ever since the get go when she arrived four years ago. "I always dressed like this," her reply was short, her soft voice filled with confusion but the smile kept its place on her face. "You might be mistaking me for someone else, Taichi." Syana gave out a soft laugh. Pulling down her hood and letting it hang loosely around her neck to reveal her golden brown locks which seemed to have grown back as healthily as ever. She had made a full blown recovery since her torture other than the scar on her back, her magic had done a quick fix. "Anyway, it’s been a while so it’s nice to see a familiar face again! What’s up?” Syana was about to part her lips to answer, but Abel dived in.
"Taichi you shouldn’t- Why don’t we have a look at the new inventory instead? We’ve got lots of cool new items” Looking towards Abel once more, the light mage give him a warm smile in order to dismiss his worry. Sure, she had emotionally, physically and mentally become greatly scarred due to that incident but she was taught not to show her true emotions. Besides, Taichi meant no harm and Syana wasn't going to let it bother her any more. She needed to act strong and fend for herself, especially if it was to help not only the guild with its burnt down bar, but help Maddox too. "Just finished working and now going to take these home and enjoy them," Lowering the bag to show the sweets and cakes in their transparent boxes, Syana grinned at her spoils. "Anybody want some?"

He didn’t understand why Abel told him off for asking how she was, but he wasn’t the type to give things much thought for that matter and was soon distracted by the sweet scent of sweets and cakes. When Syana offered he couldn’t refuse. After all, rent, food and girls were the main things he spent his earnings on. He almost started drooling at the smell that came from the bag and happily grabbed a cupcake from it. “Yes! These smell delicious, thank you!”
Abel sighed at the male mage and then smiled at Syana. “You’re really too kind, thank you” He leaned over to grab a sweet from the bag and was happy she was doing okay. “Especially to that guy. I really wonder what women see in him..”
Meanwhile Taichi had already stuffed half the cupcake in his mouth and was enjoying the fluffy and moist texture, unable to keep to himself that it tasted delicious. When he heard Abel’s remark he smirked with naughty looking eyes and leaned against the counter with one arm. “What’s that Abel, do I detect jealousy..?”
Speaking with his mouth full was a fine example of no table manners. Abel was clearly ticked off by the other’s remark about being jealous and used both his arms to point at him, presenting him to Syana with eyes of disbelief. “Do you see what I mean?”
Abel hadn’t even put the sweet in his mouth yet or the other was already finished eating and was licking his fingers off. Taichi quit leaning on the counter, he had no idea what his friend was on about and looked surprised, pointing at himself. “What, is there something on my face?”
The shopkeeper couldn’t help but chuckle at his friend’s density and decided to let it go. Taichi on the other hand wanted to return a kindness to Syana and offered to give her a hand. “Anyway, shall I walk you home? I can carry your bag for you”

Watching the two talk was something Syana couldn't help but enjoy. The bickering that came from the two just from her arrival was enough to make her laugh. It felt good to laugh - something she hadn't really done for a while. It seemed she was slowly recovering from the nightmare she had once been in. "Especially to that guy. I really wonder what women see in him..” Abel replied in return for the offering of the cake. Looking towards Taichi, she closed her eyes and focused on her surroundings before opening them and watching his magic stream run through his system. Relaxing her gaze and shoving aside the dull ache that scolded her for doing something so careless, she shrugged her shoulders. "He's a young, healthy boy." She complimented, nodding to herself. "What’s that Abel, do I detect jealousy..?” Taichi rebuked after already quickly devouring the poor cupcake so quickly and leaving not a single remnant left caused Syana to marvel at how quickly that cupcake had gone. "Do you see what I mean?” Syana peeled her eyes away from Taichi to focus on Abel and shrugged. She didn't really mind the uncivilised way. Taichi was in her eyes a growing boy and if eating a cupcake whole was the way for it to be shown then so be it. Taichi seemed puzzled by Abel's question to the point he pointed to himself and quizzed over what was happening. Another laugh escaped Syana's lips and she found herself closing her eyes and cocking her head to the side with a huge smile on her lips.
It seemed sadly that all things came to a close as Taichi offered his hand out towards the light mage. "Anyway, shall I walk you home? I can carry your bag for you” Looking down at the brown paper bag in her clutches, Syana slowly offered it out towards him and dropping it in his hands before lowering her arms and adjusting her shawl with the dull ache once again reminding her that she did indeed carry a bag awkwardly for a while. Not like she was on to say much, Syana gave a small wave of the hand good bye towards Abel before turning to make her way away from the guild - having completely forgotten the whole reason she was actually on her way there. "Taichi was it?" She finally asked, gazing over at him curiously. "I do apologise, but I barely remember you." Blunt as always, Syana looked onward towards the sky.

Taichi gladly took over carrying Syana’s bag, and also waved Abel goodbye when she did. “See you later Abel!”
Abel smiled, thinking to himself that the guild had a lot of members that just left for weeks on end before showing their face again, and that even though Taichi would sometimes drive him mad, he missed having him around and wished everyone would come by more frequently. “Better be soon, and take care!”
“Taichi was it?” Syana asked when the shop was already far behind them.
“That’s me!” he said happily. After all, socializing with pretty girls was one of his favorite things to do.
When she mentioned she barely remembered him he scratched his head with a friendly, apologetic look. “That’s my bad, sorry” He put his hand into his pocket and also gazed at the sky “I solo on small and easy missions. I guess that’s why I haven’t improved much over the years” It clearly didn’t matter to him, ranking up at the bottom of his priority list. He even smiled about it.
He looked at her again “Anyway, I like to travel and see the world so I pretty much return to the guild when my jewels run out, only to head out again so I usually only stay for a day or two”
There were also periods when he dropped by several times a month to snatch up missions, but that was literally running up to the mission board to then head out again, staying to chat for thirty minutes at most. This was to fill his pockets with jewels so he could stay away for weeks on end and have romances all over the globe.
“That’s why we didn’t speak that often. The last time I remember was… In the guild hall. It was raining really hard all day and night, so it was very cozy and everyone was having drinks and playing games. Ah that was so long ago though! But it’s a fond memory! Maybe we should have terrible rainstorms more often hahaha”
It dawned on him that they may have only spoken that one time. Which wasn’t strange since the guild was big and there were so many mages, this was the case for a lot of them. It was easy to slip past each other when one returns to the guild while the other’s on a train ride towards their next mission. Only mages like Abel who stuck around the guild had a wide enough social connection with the guild members to know everyone thoroughly.

Stepping slowly away from the shop as it began to disappear behind them, her shoes softly clicking against the floor with her shawl dangling and dancing against her sides with the hems matching the hem of her robes. "That’s me!” Piped up the happy-go-lucky Taichi as they walked away. Watching him from the corner of her eyes as she moved in a steady pace, her eyes swept over him as she took in his appearance and compared it to his personality. Her eyes occasionally drew to the whistle that hung loosely around his neck. Stating in a rather blunt manner how she had no memory of him, it seemed like he grew embarrassed and just scratched his head. “That’s my bad, sorry” Puzzled by his response, Syana moved her hands behind her back and held onto her left palm, fingers curling over and holding the side of her right. Why he was apologising was little to unknown for the poor mage. Her green eyes didn't leave him, her lips pursed together in a curved line.
It seemed like a rather brief amount of time passed and Syana followed his gaze towards the sky while they walked, her steps being far more cautious with each step. "I solo on small and easy missions. I guess that’s why I haven’t improved much over the years” Sounds like a way to make money. "Anyway, I like to travel and see the world so I pretty much return to the guild when my jewels run out, only to head out again so I usually only stay for a day or two” he confirmed her thoughts. "Jewels or not, experience comes with each passing day," Syana stated rather suddenly. "Experience comes with each day," lifting her hand from behind her back and examining her pale palm, she closed her hand into a fist and stopped on the spot. A ray of light snaked its way around her body before forming in a sort of empty ring above her closed hand. Her green eyes closed and she enjoyed its warmth before turning her gaze towards the boy. "You grow with each mission, y'see?" She cocked her head with a smile and then look onward, proceeding to walk. "Syana! Are you walking with your boyfriend?" A woman ran over, her gaze shifting between the two with a warm smile. Syana shook her head and the woman's smile faltered. "Realllllyy?" Syana nodded. "But he looks like such a charming young man." She looked towards Taichi and grinned a toothy grin before checking her watch. "Oh damn! I have to go, talk to you later!" Running past the two with a flick of the hand, the girl did a fast dash away.
Walking onward, Syana found her mind wandering off as she pondered on the smallest things like why the weather had been so peaceful lately. The weird reason that the world continued to rotate and everyone lived like everything was normal. “That’s why we didn’t speak that often. The last time I remember was… In the guild hall. It was raining really hard all day and night, so it was very cozy and everyone was having drinks and playing games. Ah that was so long ago though! But it’s a fond memory! Maybe we should have terrible rainstorms more often hahaha” Pulling her from her thoughts, she tried to recollect it. "I don't remember this," She replied abruptly. "In fact, I don't think I was around for that either. I was only there for a few days and then soon left due to having grown close to a friend..." Her voice toned down to a sad, forlorn tone. "Now I rejoined because Kasumi needed my help and low and behold I ended up being in command alongside her." She trailed off with an awkward sigh before shaking her head and causing the sadness to disappear. "That's all done, now. I'm like a guardian, y'know?" She cocked her head to the side and laughed. "I'm an A rank after all... I have to step up my game." Sure, that was uncharacteristic of her to say but her light magic was forever growing stronger and so was her tolerance to using it.
