This little guide is to help people to Rp fight and I guess to teach my style a little to others. So I hope you enjoy it and take a little with you.
================================================
Fighting Role-Play guide Know yourself and your enemy. By The Martyr Keep this header intact if use on other sites. ================================================ Basic of Role-Play fighting should be noted it is not a brute force fight. It is not about whom has the bigger guns against the other, but more of the opposite. Despite all those big power house spells for offense you may have you will find out that it is rare that you get to land that spell. Big spells will drain you quickly and should be used only as a finisher spell. In fact, you should be dealing weaker spells onto someone that deals minior damage that can builds up. The reason, people are more willing to take to take hits from attacks that will not one shot them to death.
Smaller and weaker attacks could be use in variety of ways. Such as build damage that would play out later in the fight to your side of the fight, use to figure out your opponent powers, figure out how strong they are, and finally how they react when they are getting pressure. Once you figure out these three key things about your opponent you know how to defeat them. Maybe they are the type who gets angery east so they might use up all their magic at once at you when provoked. Perhaps, they're the timid type whose character is scared easy from big attacks or anything appear scary. However, these are just an example so not every fight be like that.
Key type of spells that I believe everyone should have are, a dodging spell, a spamable weak attack, a defense spell, a binding spell, and one finisher spell. A dodging spell so you can get out of the way for spells their no way to get out of, small spam able attacks that I already cover, binding spell so you can hold them down to set up your finisher, and the defense spell for things you can block or just cannot dodge. For everything else should be the same as well, but in different ways. Some attacks attacking from the sides and some attacking above. Of course, the direct straight forward attacks.
Having too many direct attacks will not always work or if at all anyway. If you have too many direct type of attacks the enemy will not need to use spells to dodge or block it. Believe it or not, you be suprise that the power of side stepping. Someone shoots a fireball at you. It a direct attack and it not the world fasted thing out there. You can side step it or perhaps roll out of the way. Anything that directs I would suggest some of attack that shoots fast. Give them little time to react and add pressure to them. Plus, they be more willing to take the hit if it fast, but minor damage.
Lastly, where and when to attack your opponen is important. You should always take distance between you and your target into consideration. So, say if you're close to him and he's good at melee. I wouldn't suggest moving to close to him if you're a mid or long range fighter. Finally, I would reccomend attacking your target legs and stomach through out the fight. Chips away at their stamina and make it hard for them to move. This way, you can set up for a big spell and finish them.
That is all for my guide for now. I may add more in the future. If you have any comments, suggestions, and feedback by all means go ahead. If you post it on another site please at least give me credit for it.
