The bandit’s eyes widened as the woman sprouted a pair of wings. “A-An angel!?” He quivered before skidding to a halt. Before he could even attempt to sidestep out of Astra’s assault, however, the feeble teen would already find himself grimacing as the Valkyrie’s shoulder drove itself into his body. “Gyaaaah!” He winced before tumbling into the sand. While the man appeared to still be fully conscious, he was doing little else other than curling himself into the fetal position. Clearly, the force behind the attack and the weight of Astra’s armour had resulted in a few broken ribs.
“W-Wait! I give! I give! No more!” The bandit was defeated, rather pathetically. If Astra were to look over at the guards, she would also see the two other thugs disarmed and on the floor, half beaten to death. The only one that appeared to have gotten off lightly was the hostage who remained untouched, although sobbing visibly due to the betrayal of his so called friends. “You there!” Bellowed one of the armed guards. “I would ask you to take note, avoid direct skin contact with these individuals. And if you are to use a weapon, blunt attacks are the way forward. Even blood carries the risk of infection.” At the end of his sentence, the man would point to the blunt end of his spear before redirecting Astra’s gaze to the numerous bruises littering the defeated duo.
Astra had made a wise decision. Virus or no virus, if she had attempted to fly onto the gates, she would have been met with an unrelenting assault even if she meant no real harm. These were not times of peace and such an act could easily be misinterpreted as a sign of war. “You may enter the gates, but after an inspection.” The words were somewhat filled with kindness, however, something was wrong. Very wrong. While Astra would have sensed nothing from that one talkative guard in particular aside from his physical prowess, out of nowhere, she would suddenly feel a familiar sense of danger looming over him.

Astra would sigh softly. Fortunately the girls armor seemed to have warded off direct contact with the individual who was now whimpering on the ground from her ferocious tackle. It seemed everything had worked out for the best. It was extremely fortunate. With her armored gloves, she grabbed hold of the remaining bandit. From where he was on the ground, he wouldn't be able to cause any skin-contact without somehow leaping up at her. Something that he, with broken ribs, would find extremely difficult. Dragging him across the sand, she dropped him off by the others, before casually walking onwards towards the gate. That is, however, when another strange sensation came upon her. The same looming sensation that she had experienced before. Looking at the guard, the Valkyrie froze in place. They had all seen her magic, and there was a strange calm and valiant aura about the girl. Perhaps that is why they were treating her with some kindness. "Excuse me kind sir, but if I, Astra of the Valkyries, is to be checked by thou hands, I need thee checked for this disease first. With the information that it spreads through touch, I have to be careful. My Valkyrie eyes reveal to me those bearing this disease. They appear as extremely dangerous to me. Currently thou holdeth such prospect, so unless thou is actively attempting to kill me, thou could be infected." Astra spoke calmly, taking a step back and holding her current position by the gate.
It was a strange day indeed, and if the disease truly was so contagious, and people were spreading it far and wide on purpose, then who would really be safe in the long run? Keeping her eyes somewhat on the bandits aswell, she wouldn't be taken by surprise. They wouldn't even stand half a chance of surprising her, that much was for certain. A strange thought occured to her. With Harujion being a port, and lots of trading and traveling going through here, was it possible that the entire city could've been infected in the day that she was out in the desert?...

“Gyah! Damn grandma!” The bandit howled in pain as Astra grabbed hold and dragged him across the white-hot sand. He would even try to reach for the girl, though of course, the very act in doing so was utterly futile. Unless he could somehow elongate his arms, the armoured Valkyrie was more than safe. “S-Stop!” He hissed as the pain in his ribs flared up rather violently. “Aren’t angels supposed to be calm and peaceful!? You know, the type to sit on clouds and play harps! And as a matter of fact, didn’t they specifically teach you in angel school not to move around anyone that may have broken ribs!?”
Things were looking good for Valkyrie, right up until she would accuse one of the guards of being infected. “W-What? Are you touched in the head? There is no possibility that I am infected. Are you just stalling?” One of the bruised bandit’s would snicker at the response, though just quietly enough for no one to really notice. While being pummelled into submission, quite a lot of blood had ended up pooling inside of his mouth, which he of course took no hesitation in spitting at the guard’s exposed ankles while he was busy conversing with Astra. “Oh you didn’t know? She is infected too. The whole reason she came here was because she was pissed off at us for infecting her.”
If the bandits couldn’t infect the city, then they would rely on the guard tasked with checking anyone entering the city. Such was the backup plan. “Men! Check her!” The three other guards would step forward on command with disapproving looks in their eyes. They weren’t silly enough not to pay any heed to Astra’s warning, however, at the same time they needed to check her too in case she really was just using this as a excuse to avoid being checked. “I’ll check her.” Said one of the non-threatening guards. According to Astra’s powers, she could sense some sort of strength within the man, however, nothing sinister or related to the virus.
“D-Damn that angel. How does she know who is infected? And Valkyrie eyes? What on earth is that? She’s going to ruin everything!” The bandit Astra had defeated would begin contemplating. He needed to infect her somehow, however, things were looking hopeless. “Heh, the captain of Harujion taking orders from a lady. We should replace that armour of yours with a skirt.” The so called captain would become red-faced and fall for the taunt. “Back off! I’ll inspect her!” The man bellowed like a boar before making his way towards the Valkyrie with every intention to touch her with his non-gloved hands. “I am only a danger to the enemies of Harujion. If you perceive me as a threat woman, then you only speak ill of yourself.”

Standing there calmly, the girl lowered her head, before opening her eyes and seeming rather forceful for a moment. Pointing at the captain, it was clear that she was incredibly serious with what she was about to say. "Have thou so little respect for the safety of thy allies, that thou would not have thyself checked?! Is thou life so cheap that the bickering of bandits decide wheter you tangle with death and diseases you do not know?! Risk thou life over thy anger?!" The girl was furious. Rather than ignoring the bandit that was squirming around on the ground, she lifted her foot and stomped him to the chest. This man had absolutely no honor, and keeping him bashed into the ground so that he could not get up to anything funny. The fact that these bandits were spitting blood everywhere, and that her eyes was revealing something that seemed like a lingering curse in it, she shortly breathed softly to give another warning. "Before I continue to scold the Captain, I request that thou all watch out for their blood.. I get the same sensation off of it, as I am of the carriers themselves." Then she cleanly cleared her throat, making sure that that noone could spit at her, by taking a safety amount of steps away, leaning against a wall by the gate. Now Astra was openly addressing the men, speaking over the Captain, speaking for and to them. "If the captain of the city will not protect its walls, then I, Astra of the Valkyries, shall. Heed me, noble soldiers of Harujion. I do not expect thou to follow me. I do not expect thou to believe my every word. However, if thy captain is not willing to accept a routine check, then what kind of man is he?! Is he truly a man thou should all place thou faith within?! " Turning back to the Captain, Astra pointed a finger to him. "Either thou will accept a routine check, or I shall challenge you to a duel. I, Astra, shall not allow you to infect this fair city! No matter the cost!" With that, the hair that had almost been raising from her forceful nature seemed to calm down. The strenght behind her eyes, had become one of sadness.
Even if this duel would result in her loss, the guards would hopefully listen to her enough to disallow the captain from simply entering and going about his business. The girl was tired from the travelling and from the fighting. Thirsty as she had given her water to the old man that had tricked her. The guards could likely identify her current weakness. Yet there she was, trying to fight for them, trying to speak sense. If the Captain truly wasn't nervous, why would he even consider raising his blade against a stranger. Astra was betting on getting a little assistance from the guards, or she could potentially end up in trouble.

“Y-You!” The captain crumbled under the pressure of Astra’s words. For a moment, he almost looked as if he was preparing to strike her down with his spear raised high. In the end though, the weapon would only lower with his head. “And now she’s bossing him around even more! Maybe you should bake your new girlfriend a cake!” The bandit continued his barrage of insults, though this time, to little avail. It appeared as if the girl was getting through to him. “Of course my life is cheap! Cheap compared to the hundreds that reside within the city walls!”
“You aren’t actually listening to her are you!? Come on princess, man up!” The bandit took a moment to prepare more insults. Before he could fire out more comments, however, Astra’s boot would come flying down like divine wrath from the heavens. “Gyaaah! Mercccccy!” He squealed before passing out from the pain. “Blood? Captain!” One of the lesser guards would draw attention to the captain’s sandals, at which point everyone would gasp. “Blood…” The captain dropped onto his knees upon inspecting the reddish tint on his left ankle.
Astra had took control over the situation, or at least, she had until she continued her speech. “You dare turn my men against me!” With the fire reignited in his eyes, the captain would rise from the ground and shift his body into a menacing and highly aggressive stance. “I will have my check in due course woman. However, what business do you have attempting to subjugate my men! Your actions are suspicious and cowardly!” The oversized man would toss his weapon into his dominant hand before making a reckless charge for the Valkyrie, the act of which causing a metallic clang to echo into the air.
“M-Men!” He stuttered. The captain’s spear had fallen short of its target by several inches due to the defensive formation of the armoured trio. “Apologies captain! But we cannot let you-” The words would end abruptly as the men noticed a tear in the eye of their captain. “Captain!” They all murmured in unison before bursting into tears and dropping their spears in a defeated manner. “I apologize maiden. I very nearly wronged you in my pursuit of denying my state of health. I am no longer fit to lead these men.” At the end of his sentence, the man would rip the badge from his armoured vest before tossing it into the sand with a tearful expression. “As my last act, I will have these bandits arrested and of course, you may pass through our gates without delay upon your inspection at the hands of our city’s new captain.” Wiping his tears, the former captain would raise his hand to shake one of the blonde-haired men in his command before abruptly lowering the gesture and replacing it with a solemn smile. “Apologises. Living with this infection will take some getting used to. I will also apologise to you once more maiden. We shall forever remember the name Astra. The saviour of our humble Harujion.”

With the bandits all on their asses in subjugation, and the captain slowly coming around through the girls words, the girl nodded her head respectfully at him. The demeanor from her was rapidly changing, even if the look of sadness was still glinting in her eyes. It should be clear that she had felt absolutely no joy from this current encounter. It was rather obvious that she would've preferred a non-violent and quieter approach. "Captain, thou have just shown thy men what it means to be a true leader. I commend thou for thy honorable actions. I vow that I shall find a cure, this disease will not be thou end. From such noble actions, I can only imagine that thou friends among the guard will be searching too. A great man thou are, indeed." With that, the exhausted Valkyrie would step into the gate finally, somewhat lowering her guard at this point. Figuring that the handshake was done in a way that would not spread the disease, Astra was still making sure that she was doing the checkup to herself, by simply stripping a little for the guards. Though a warning was probably still appropriate. "While I understand thy sentiment, be careful with contact. It would be a shame if an accident was to happen." Astra said, before continuing to strip. While inappropriate, it was a neccessity. With what little actual strenght she had left, she was relying solely on her eyes at this point to protect her from infection. With a bright, shining light, the armor of the Valkyrie was shimmering away, leaving behind only a dress. A dress which made inspection rather easy, as it was tightened around her torso, leaving her shoulders and shoulderblades bare. The dress itself was colored in a light red tone, almost pink, and it seemed to be from ancient times, appearing exactly like one would expect of a 14th century dress. There wasn't a weapon in her hands, and she wasn't armored. At this point, she was as vulnerable as any civillian. As Astra did a light spin for the guards, it would be rather easy to see that she had no markings on her back as of yet. If they wanted to check her more thoroughly, she'd have to strip her all the way to her waist, which with the zipper at the back wasn't impossible, though highly invasive. So if required, while blushing lightly, she would simply undo the zipper and reveal the entirety of her back, from shoulders to waist, disallowing anyone from touching her currently. At this point she wasn't looking out for the bandits or any shenanigans from the Captain.
If everything went as she was hoping, she would step through the entirety of the gate without anyone or anything touching her. It seemed she was in a hurry. "If thou will permit, I have a rather urgent need to speak to the Mayor. There was an entire camp of bandits out in the desert, plotting to spread the disease far and wide. I believe their intentions were to raise the need for a cheap cure, so that they too could be liberated. If noone acts, who knows how many more may become infected."

The new captain of Harujion would only require a quick inspection before sending Astra on her way. The Deadly Crow virus was far too deadly and aggressive to be kept hidden under a simple dress. “You may pass.” The man would shoot the Valkyrie a smile. “Thank you for all you have done and please, make haste towards the Mayor. These scum must be stopped.”+50 AP
