[That meanie Rii, trying to make me skip my turn. D:]
Glaring towards Kasumi as she dismissed his words, he opened his mouth to proceed with his argument but found himself at a loss for words as the redhead spouted off some strange things. "Demon world?" He echoed, a deep frown etched into his features. The question was, naturally, lost of Kasumi as she rambled and ranted to her hearts content, and rather than trying to fight the flow of the conversation he decided to drift with the current instead of trying to fight the direction it headed in.
His eyes drifted to Syana, who had fallen asleep and the floor, it seemed, and he promptly released a quiet, hopeless sounding sigh. Scolded by one woman, he was practically blown off by the seconds and admittedly he wasn't sure what to make of it all. It was certainly a far stretch from what he was used to.
Kasumi's rantings had wound down to self pity and what was likely the true feelings behind her words came to the surface.
Troublesome. Girls were very troublesome.
Still, he couldn't quite squash the desire to offer Kasumi some words of advice.
"Revenge sounds appealing in theory, but it tastes like ash." He began, pouring himself another drink, which he downed before slipping to his feet. "It will neither bring your friends back nor please them to know that you have wasted precious years of you life seeking it." Crouching next to Syana, he scooped her up bridal style before returning to the bar stool, where he let her relax in his lap and against his chest, where he could keep a watchful eye on her in the event that she got sick.
"Perhaps you should have died, but that is not what your friends wanted, yes? They protected you, they wanted you to live on in their stead, do not take such things so lightly. You are young, even younger back then, I doubt you had ever experienced such horrors, being afraid of them is natural - it is what makes you human." His large hand lightly caressed Syana's face, which he brought to rest on his shoulder to prevent himself from stealing a kiss while she was unconscious. "On the other hand, becoming stronger to prevent such things from happening is a noble purpose, not unlike what drove my sister to seek greater power. Should you desire it enough, I am certain that you too can find it. You have more in common with her than perhaps you realize."
He shrugged softly, tearing his eye away from Syana to look to Kasumi. "Pathetic? No, you just look human. For all of our magical power, if we were to lose that, we would end up like those who have wronged you, yes? Do not be ashamed of it."
