Name: Night Patrol Rank: C Posts Limit: 3 Objective: Onibas is moving forwards, but even though progress is being made, there are still those people that are left behind, and as such the crime rate is on the rise, and the local guards could use a helping hand. Spend a night patrolling Onibas and put a stop to any criminal activity that you see. Reward: 300 Exp: 35 Durriken was patrolling the town a lantern in one hand his other hovered over his cards ready to activate his magic at the smallest notice. He noticed the rising crime within his town and he didn't like it. He dealt with enough criminals and shady individuals in his time at the circus. He understood where they came from but if they were taking enough to be noticed, it meant they were getting greedy. As he walked though he noticed something strange, it looked like a large black dog, but when he got closer he noticed that the light from his lantern reflected strangely off the creature, as if it wasn't natural. He also noticed some dark blue marking around its head and body that gave it a sleek look. It growled at Durriken showing its teeth and strange glowing blue drool. Before it got a chance to attack Durriken pulled out his Five of Swords and fired a weak blast the creature hoping to stun and possibly scare it off back into the forest and out of town. The blast hit dead on, and didn't even phase the creature. It let out a loud roar and Durriken turn and ran.

He wasn't running to escape it, but he knew from the strength of the shot that he would need some space and would prefer to not gain Griffin Wing the reputation of the Fairy Tail mages. He turned and saw the creature following him at a speed faster than the man could run. He saw a three way intersection coming up in front of him. He paused quickly taking out his Four of Wands. He activated this card and thick black smoke began to emerge from the card filling the intersection with smoke making it impossible for the beast to see which way Durriken took.
He went down the left path and after a minute he heard the beast roar once more and guessed it finally found him again. He was lucky though since he could already see the wall that marked the outskirts of the city. He cursed loudly when he saw the gate was closed. He pulled out another card from his deck this time it was the Seven of Swords. His feet glowed gently with potential magic. He jumped and started into a set of forward flips gaining rotationally momentum until finally he jumped using the full power of his card.

The jump sent him thirty feet into the air and when he jumped he tucked his body which increased his spin speed and sent him soaring easily over the twenty-five foot wall. He landed still tucked as he rolled before untucking. He dusted himself off waiting for the creature to arrive. He doubted such a simple wall could have kept it in since it surely didn't keep it out.
He was correct in his assumption and the beast leaped gracefully over the wall snarling as it landed, its clawing grapping and tearing at the ground as it launched itself at Durriken finally able to reach its intended target.
Durriken did not estimate the beasts speed correct and could not dodge fast enough. He tried to turn out of the beasts past but the closest claw of the front was still able to score his chest leaving a gash that bled freely.
He hissed in pain and touched his fingers to his chest rubbing the slick blood between his fingers. He made a mental note to give the creature plenty of room since a direct hit on something vital could kill him with how easily it went through his skin. The beast turned to attack once again, when it pounced, this time it found its claws cutting nothing but air as Durriken vanished, reappearing ten meters away holding his Knight of Swords in his hand.

While the beast was distracted by the sudden movement of its prey, Durriken pulled out another sword can, this time the Ace of Swords. A simple long sword appeared in his hand and from the blade a swirl of air could be noticed indicating its magical nature. He made a slicing motion anticipating the beasts actions and caught it right in the face with a crescent of visual air that erupted from his blade slash. The crescent knocked it back but did not seem to pierce its armor like skin.
Durriken ran forward striking the dazed beast again in the face with his sword. This strike was much stronger and the aided ability of his sword to pierce through armor left a deep gash in the beasts face blinding it in one eye. Durriken the feigned to the blinded left side as the beast swiped at him with a paw as it roared in pain.
Durriken was starting to breath heavy as he was starting to feel the strain of casting so many max level cards within less than twenty minutes. The beast was strong, it was very clear since his sword did a lot of damage to everything else he fought before. It was time to pull out the big guns. He activated his Nine of Wands and let it fall to the ground. It flashed once as Durriken felt the wind blow a chill down his spine. Now it was just a waiting game and strategy to make sure the beast was exactly where he wanted it when the time came.

He dropped his sword as the beast turned its one good eye turning red in anger as it showed its rows of razor sharp teeth. The sword hit the ground and vanished and it it's place he summoned his shield. The beast batted at him and it hit his shield pushing him back and bruising his forearm. The beast when it noticed the shield wasn't magical jumped on the man again knocking him his feet with only the flimsy piece of wood between them. It dug its claws into the shield. Durriken could see the blue drool falling near his face but he also saw the clouds starting to gather in the sky above.
He raised his legs up and tried to kick the beast off him but it didn't budge. Durriken sighed and used his good arm to activate another card the same one he used before to jump, the Seven of Swords. This time, when he kicked at the beast, it shot into the air and arced before hitting the ground with a crash and a small crater. It also left a small crater below Durriken from the opposite force required to send the beast flying. Normally the card allowed him to jump to great heights but since he was braced against the ground there was nowhere else for the force to go except into the beast.

At the same time though the shield vanished sustaining too much damage to remain in this world any longer. Durriken looked toward the sky mentally urging the storm on as he saw small flashes of lightning within the clouds followed by booms of thunder. This would confuse the town since it was calling for a clear night but he didn't really care at the moment. The beast and Durriken both stood at the same time both limping slightly. The beast landed hard from its fall not used to being in the air. It couldn't brace itself or land correctly meaning all of the force entered its limbs and joints in incorrect manners.
Durriken was also injured since his body was not made to take the force required to launch him into the air from his card. Normally he would through the air taking very little damage. His torso took most of the damage but his knees and hips would be hurting. When the beast charged it was noticeably slower but so was Durriken. He jumped to the right and hissed as he landed on his sore joints. The lightening was starting to occur more often so Durriken glanced around trying to catch eye of his card. When he did he jumped again landing on the other side of the card. He pulled out the Ten of Swords and waited for the right moment.

The beast charged again and from his card, ten steel swords flew. None of the swords hit the beast because that wasn't where Durriken was aiming. He was aiming in front of his card creating a barrier. He noticed how the beast was always wary of new items after his sword slashed it. It sniffed at the swords and was about to move around them when the card below its feet finally finished. From the clouds above a giant bolt of lightning came down striking the beast directly. It groaned in pain before shattering leaving an odd glowing crystal on the ground as the clouds above began to disperse showing the moon and stars once again.
Durriken walked over pocketed the crystal and limped back to Griffin Wing guild to rest and have his wound looked at in the morning.
