Name: Scouting Party Rank: B Posts Required: 6 Objective: You and your team are to go to the tear desert, there have been rumors of a moderately large team of bandits attacking the towns and fleeing into the desert at night, from this you are to track them down, defeat them, and bring in their leader for justice back to Fairy Tail as he is a Renegade from the Guild, a fairly powerful Wind Mage. Reward: 700 Exp: 80
__________________________________ Deion was rather tired already. Between the beating heat of the sun, and the annoyance of taking the inexperienced on a challenging mission wasn't exactly the smartest move he could've done. He sighed, scratching his chin and think of how Fawn would react. He imagined her beating him up and then beatign him up some more. He shuddered at the thought. But then again, he wasn't the same as he was before. Erebus stood on his shoulder. "Talon is already gone ahead, correct, Deion-sama?", the small, panda-like cat asked, tugging at his pants slightly. They were a dull red with a gold string holding them up. Deion looked over at the cat and smiled. "Of course I sent the snake ahead. Why wouldn't I, Ere-kun. Or are you jealous that I sent Talon ahead and not you?", he asked, teasing Erebus, who sighed. "Aye, the heat is killer. When those kids get here, I'll explain the job. It wouldn't be easy to explain how someone died while on a mission with me, it just wouldn't sit right with me at all. Ere-kun, promise me you'll watch their backs and not mine.", Deion stated, seating himself onto a nearby benched. He fanned himself with his hand as Erebus slid down beside him. "Deion-sama, I would always follow your orders, no matter what.", Erebus stated firmly, as Deion laughed.

This was definitely something Grant should not have agreed to. At first, he had only decided to go for purely two reasons: Because those who heard he was taking on a B-Rank mission with Fairy Tail claimed he wouldn't be able to do it; And he wouldn't hesitate for a moment just to get to prove them wrong. The other reason? One of the two mages joining him on the mission was one of Fairy Tail's best. In the top 5, maybe even 3 to be more exact. Who could Pass down a mission like that? Maybe Grant should be the person to learn to turn down offers as such- Because every time he took a B-rank quest, he was terrified. Who knew what could happen to him? What if he never came back?
As ye sun beat down on him, he made his way to ye point of which he was going to meet the two other magsa from Fairy Tail. Knowing the mission was going to take place in the desert, he dressed lightly. Regardless however, he was still wearing those skinnier type black jeans... Why he couldn't give them up just for this mission was beyond anyone's common knowledge. Wearing a black Tank top, along with a dark purple sleeveless sweatshirt on top, he approached Deion and what appeared to him, a small panda replicating cat. He was nervous, but not one to avoid meeting a potential friend; especially at a time like this.
Setting his feet in the bare, hot grainy dots of sand, he went to stand near next to him, and opened his mouth to speak. "Uhh, Hey. You're here for a mission, right? I'm Grant," he managed to spit out, before rubbing the back of his head nervously. Hopefully this guy really lived up to what people said about him. Otherwise, he was screwed. And If he's the grumpy type, it'd make the mission that much harder.

Sarah had found herself pretty tired from all her training and to be honest she still didn’t feel like she had trained enough, but none the less she had to put her training on hold she needed the money bad, so bad that she agreed to do a B rank mission with a fellow fairy tail guild member who she hadn’t even met before. what can I say I need the money, but man I wish he could have delayed this mission for a bit I haven’t had the chance to perfect or improve any of my spells…oh well I guess I am going to have to wing it….this guy im meeting his name is deion…I think, at this point I don’t really know I am just so tired, aww man this is such a bother she thought to herself
The teenager dragged herself to the meeting ground and frowned, she stretched her arms out and then looked around to see the guy known as deion. Sarah couldn’t help but bite her lip as she felt something warm inside the teenagers cheeks went red and then she saw some other guy.Sarah let out a yawn and walked to them “Howdy, I am Sarah Lionhart…I am responding to the request on the mission board” she spoke out a little eagerly before mentally face palming she realized she just sounded like a total hick and let out a mental sigh.

Erebus pointed out the first one to arrive. "He's the kid from the ally guild?", Erebus asked Deion. Deion seemed to look the boy over. He didn't like the look of him. He's wearing black, tight clothing and even a sweater, he thought, laughing. Deion was no different in his regular attire, though, once they started moving, he'd be removing the jacket and possibly the shirt. "Deion-sama, are you there? He's getting closer.", Erebus said, pushing a paw into the man beside him.
Deion stood up. He, gave the boy a very stern look as Erebus, jumped onto the man's shoulder. Deion laughed and poked the air around Grant. He turned away, scratching at his chin. "So this is what qualifies as mages over in that guild? Doesn't he know he'll sweat and stink more while wearing black clothing, and at that, tight clothing?", Deion stated this freely, rather loudly, trying to point out that the boy shouldn't have dressed that way. He sighed, turning back around as Erebus was hitting him with a rolled up poster.
When the girl, Sarah arrived, Deion was quite pissed off. Erebus noticed this and pawed at him. Though, when he seen her obvious eager demeanor, he gave a gentle smile. "Hey Sarah.", Deion and Erebus said in unison, before Deion coughed and took the paper from Erebus. "Sarah, that's Grant. Grant, that's Sarah. I'm Deion.", he stated, wanting to get down to business.
"The job is rather simple. We're tracking a group of bandits who have been attacking nearby towns recently. I've already located their hideout. It's a large, abandoned ruin in the desert.", Deion said, pointing out into the void of the dry, hot and sandy land. "Understand this, that you know that you could get seriously injured, or possibly killed.", he stated, stressing this. Erebus poked him, and Deion let out a gasp. "Okay buddy.", he said as Erebus jumped down.
"I'm Erebus, pleased to meet more mages from a guild.", he stated, that having been everything he wanted to say. Deion folded the paper and slid it into a pocket as he dropped his jacket to the ground and then unbuttoning his shirt, taking it off. He looked over at Grant, before throwing a pair of sorts at him. "I was going to wear those, but you need them. You'll feel better if you aren't wearing such constricting clothing, but it's you choice.", he said to Grant.
"So basically, we're going to trek though the desert until we find their hideout. Once we get their, we begin fighting them. Erebus will be watching you guys. I'll try and help you as much as I can, but if I get caught up, watch over yourselves before you help me. Finally, under no circumstances are you permitted to go alone against their leader.", he stated as Erebus jumped back up onto his shoulder. He began walking towards the sand, taking a deep breath. "Haste makes waste.", he stated, clearly uninterested in knowing what Sarah or Grant was capable of.
He reached for a gourd around that was attached to his pants, taking it off. It had three different symbols on it, and he pulled the cork off. It had a faint oder to it, certanly not water. More like something one might drink in a bar. He wiped his mouth with an arm, and returned the gourd back to where it should be.

Ignoring the regards of the laughing, he kind of zoned himself out to the rest of the conversation. After not getting the chance to introduce himself to the new girl who came, Sarah, Deion and his Cat seemed to snap into a sudden "serious" mode, and began discussing what the mission would be like. First, the way he dressed way mocked. Then, he was robbed of an introduction. This mission was going to turn out just perfect. Them, something he struck a nerve. Not an angry one; A terrified one. He really didn't want to die here. If this was the last mission he was going to do, he didn't want it in a desert. And certainly not with these people.
After that, however, it seemed like the cat began to take-over. And Deion began to.. Take off? stripping himself of his shirt, he tossed Grant a pair of shorts, offering them to him, though claiming he was going to wear them himself. But Grant's mind was un-changed, regardless of what weather happened to be out here. Shaking his head, and tossing the shorts back, he kindly rejected. "I'm okay, really." Still nervous about the whole idea of going on this mission he just idly stood by, watching as Deion pulled out a gorge and began drinking. But it wasn't water; It was quite obvious from the scent. Grant cocked up an eyebrow, curious as to why he was-... Drinking on such a dangerous mission as such.
So the plan, was to invade some old ruin and find this little group. Beat the leader. But how strong was their leader? Certainly at the level he was at, he'd need at least both of his new team-mates to back him up. More so, He'd have to there to back on of them up. he was sure he was the weakest of the bunch, and certainly looked slightly more down upon for not being in the same guild. Sure, they were sister guilds, but it doesn't mean they all thought well of each other. taking a few steps forward, he eye'd of what seemed to be bare wastelands of sand, though making out a slight visual of some sort of ruin. So they were fairly close to where their main objective was. But he wasn't one to be eager about it.
Walking back to where the two still stood, he opened his mouth to speak. "So, uhm. We're just going to go head first into their base, or.. Sneak in? And What if we get seperated from the group? And the leader happens to confront one of us then? Do we still fight or what?" Maybe he was acting too worried; But it was better safe, then sorry.

Sarah had looked at the big strong man he seemed to be quite intimidating and she almost wanted to scowl before she remembered that men were quite weak having their genitals on the outside all she needed to do was deliver one swift kick of justice and boom chances are the guy becomes sterile and wont dare treat her bad…the plus side of being a woman we keep our sexual organs inside the body. She looked at deion and erebus feeling quite anxious she let out a frown and then looked at grant as he was introduced.
It seemed that deion was the ring leader of this mission as he spoke about it in detailed apparently the three of them would be tracking a group of bandits who have made a reputation for attacking towns recently. Deion had apparently found their base and told her it was in the desert, he pointed out towards it and the teenager wondered how sexy he would look in a different attire, she mentally shook her head as he spoke about the risk wow I could die on this mission or get hurt…wow what an optermist…oh well who wants to live forever anyway…hmm I will just have to tell fawn in future references don’t make deion an advertising publicist for the guild he would probably come up with something like….Fairy tail chances are you gonna die Sarah thought to herself a little skeptically.
The teenager had looked at erebus and took a step back she felt kind of creeped out by the fact the man had been so close to a cat and grant and suddenly deion wasn’t that hot anymore not with him being all covered in cat juice and oddly enough attached to the cat. Sarah watched as the guy removed his jacket and unbuckled his shirt, she watched subtly trying to act like she wasn’t perving on cat boy well maybe he wouldn’t be that bad if the cat was locked up somewhere while we…hot damn take it off she thought to herself Sarah shivered as the adorable thing got back on the shoulder of the stud and acted casual. “yeah yeah no taking on the leader shesh lighten up…and uh don’t worry about me I can I am capable of uh watching out for myself” she spoke a little curious about thecat cat. Sarah was confident in her abilities she may have not perfected her training but it didn’t mean she was one to be underestimated. The teenager looked at grant and wondered what sort of magic capacity he possessed to go along on a B rank mission.
Sarah yawned she was a Fairy tail wizard, she may not be the best, but she would give it her best shot and if she was knocked down she would pick herself up and try again, because was her way. the teenager sighed softly and just went along casually.

Deion seemed to weigh the options between his mind as Erebus took the opportunity to answer. "Deion-sama would hope that you two would stay close. Infiltration would be ideal, but there's the unfortunate chance that they pay good attention to their security. Right?", the cat asked Deion, hitting him with his paw. He seemed to react like he hadn't heard a word anyone said.
"Right! Right!", he said, rather cheerful. "Try to stick together, and if we can't infiltrate, we'll have to fight. If the leader does confront you, I'll try and help. I want you two to understand that teamwork is going to be key. Overall, I want you to have fun.", he said, looking back at Grant and smiling. He clearly didn't pick up on the fact Grant was worried, so Erebus did.
He looked back at Grant smiling. "If you're too worried, Deion-sama can give you a hug to reassure you.", the cat taunted horridly. Even Deion reacted by shifting his weight, knocking the cat to the ground. Then he spoke. "I'm not going to hug you. Unless you actually want a hug....", he stated rather quietly.
Erebus dusted the sand out of his pants and gave Deion a dirty look before starting to walk. Deion laughed at his companion as a lengthy shadow descended on Deion. "Ere-kun.", he said, as Erebus jumped up onto the kneeling man's shoulder. The second the cat landed, Deion jumped, becoming on with the shadow.
When they looked up, they would notice the man seated on a large flying serpent. "You guys have already met Ere-kun. This is Talon, a friend of mine. He'll be helping us out, and trust me, he's useful. Breathing his poisonious gas clouds can render you immobile for a short time.", he said, rather carefree from atop such a beast. Erebus, on the other hand, kept hs eyes foward.
Deion said one more thing. "You two, make sure to talk about you magic. Mine is hardening the earth to use as attacks.", he shouted down.

Seemed like the cat was the only one with any sense, Grant concluded in his mind, as Deion failed to pick up any emotion given off from him. The cat offered up Deion for a hug, as Grant just idly stood by, a smile growing on his face. In a kind manner, Deion shut down the idea, offering a hug if Grant really desired such. "Nah, I'm fine... Thanks though, I guess." he said, Then looking away, He continued to stare off into the bare sandy horizon. A shadow began to place itself over him, as his widened, terrified, having absolutely no idea what could potentially be behind him.
Shakingly turning himself around, a sigh of relie came over him as he confirmed that he was safe, the two wizards still behind him, untouched. Then, he looked up and just stared as he watched the snake land itself in the sand, his mouth in an "o" shape and his face dumbfounded. As an introduction between the new arrivals were passed as well, As Deion appeared to have-... Gotten on it? Is that even safe? Grant thought to himself, before joining sides with Sarah.
Hearing Deion, he took in what magic type he uses against his own. There was a possibility that their magic could go together; though he wasn't one to formulate plAns and such. In a situation as such, it seemed as if Deion and his pals were the most capable, powerful; so it would naturally make sense for them to lead this mission.
Looking at Sarah, he could obviously notice that she was quite the pretty girl; better than your average one. Curious as to what magic she used, and more about her, (due to the introductions being stolen) "So, uh, Sarah was it? What kind of magic do ya' use? I use Shadow-Make magic, only person I know who uses it, ha..." he said, his voice still shaken with nerves. He hoped he could make at least one friend on this mission, someone he could trust. You know, if he made it back alive.

Sarah had looked at Deion and the strange cat began talking again about how it would be ideal if they all stayed close during the confrontation, but that was probably unrealistic so instead pay attention. Sarah nodded her head and scoffed at the concept of team work in her head team work please…only person a girl can count on is herself she thought to herself the cat had spoken to grant about deion figures the hot one guy would be gay…its always the hot ones she thought to herself annoyed she sighed softly out of frustration Deion seemed to be frustrated at the cat outing him and knocked the cat to the ground as Sarah passed the feline she spoke “ that’s what you get when you out your master” she spoke casully pretending to not care What Sarah hadn’t expected was to see a large hideous flying snake “EWWWWW” she spoke out and shivered out of disgust. Sarah hated snakes “why couldn’t your friend be something that isn’t all slimy and icky” she spoke looking at the foul hideous creature
Sarah had folded her arms, she shivered again ignoring deion as he asked to share info on magic she watched deion get on it “no way am I getting on that scalely thing” she mumbled disgusted. Sarah looked at grant as he asked her about her magic, his voice was shaken and she smiled just a little trying to be reassuring “I don’t use magic…im not a wizard…im a martial artist” she spoke, the truth was Sarah was an elemental wizard that specialized in earth make, but she wasn’t the type of girl to brag about her power, its better to keep her true power hidden in case people were listening in on her.

Deion shook his head at Grant. He seemed like he was about to answer, scratching his chin. That was until Erebus gave a laugh and answered. Well, Erebus spoke after Sarah commented on Talon. "No, Deion's riding on Talon. But Talon will be support, much like I am. Though, Talon is more capable than I am.", the cat spoke as Deion seemed disturbed. He turned to Sarah and looked at her.
"I don't go that way. Though, I'm sure you'd enjoy to watch that, wouldn't you?", he said, perhaps rather angry. "Focus.", he stated, before patting Talon. The snake swooped down to pick up Erebus. Afterwards, Erebus climbed to stand on Deion's shoulder once again. "I find that hard to believe. A simple martial artist in a mage guild. Do you think I'm that stupid?", Deion asked Sarah.
He looked off into the distance. Both him and Erebus sighed in unison. Ere-kun, this is going to be a long job. Then, I never want to deal with either of these two afterward, Deion thought. He looked to Erebus as Erebus looked at him.

Grant laughed as Sarah 'Ewwww'd' at the giant snake, as the reptile quickly retaliated back with a hiss, and a few angry comments. Looking at it once more, he found himself to think that it was a pretty cool pet; One that could be useful in near any situation. Especially out here in the desert, something that could fly with such speed could be a dire component to a mission out here. Though despite that, Deion was going to selfishly use it for himself, and fly above himself and Sarah. He must really not like them, huh?
Looking over to Sarah, he just shook his head, obviously knowing she was lying. Did she really think she was too good for the group? That she thought her magic was going to make us all envy her here? "You're in Fairy Tail, I know you're a wizard. I'm not a total idiot, you know." He last part of that being that he could get the hint that the others here thought he was just a little less than stupid.
Walking forward again once more, he peeked over the dunes of sand, eyeing where there mission were to take place. They still have hardly formulated a plan, and didn't even know what the snake had patrolled for yet. Did he find anyone outside, or no? How was he not supposed to worry? For such a highly known and respected wizard, he wasn't handling everything so well, in his opinion. Regardless, he just wanted to get the mission over with, so he spoke out. "Shall we get moving, then?" he asked nervously, taking a few more steps forward. The sooner it was done, the sooner he'd be happy.

OOC: We're moving on without Sarah due to recent inactivity. Both I and Grant are in agreement.
IC:
Deion ran his arm across his forehead. The heat might've finally gotton to him. The perspiration was unbearable for him, and there really wasn't much he could do from atop the snake refered to only as Talon. Even Erebus was fanning himself, suffering all due to his black fur. "Deion-sama, why is the heat so intense?", the animal moaned out in sorrow, maybe a bit of desperation. He was still standing, though his once proud and eager look was one replaced by growing concern.
Deion merely laughed in response and rose from his seaterd position. He turned his head towards Erebus. "Ere-kun, we can't stop now. What would guildmaster think? She's already a frightening one as it is. Would you want to be the one to tell her we failed?", he asked, gaining a rather sinister and perversed look upon his face. Erebus raised his paws, cowering with his ears covered.
"No.....", Erebus let out, relieved when Deion started laughing. He gave a light scoff and shook his head. "You are good at that, but shouldn't you concern yourself with the kid, Grant?", Erebus pointed out, aiming his now free paws at the boy walking on the ground. Deion turned his head and looked down. Hopefully Deion watches everyone's back as well as he can. There's a lot riding on his shoulders if he doesn't. It would be a shame to lose a young mage, Erebus thought, revealing a somewhat perverse and twisted mindset.
Deion smiled and waved down. "Yo! Grant. Are you fine down there in the heat? You aren't seeing any mirages of the sort, right?", he asked. Deion reached for his gourd. For once, it wasn't full of alcohol, and instead, plain cold water. He took a large gulp to try and cool his body down enough to not die. It didn't help that the arid winds often sent spiraling twisters of sand once in a while.

Grant continued walking along, his arms crossed and the sun continued beating down on the group repeatedly. It was hard enough, being the only one on the ground, while the others got the luxury of laziness. Though he had to give credit to the snake; Carrying all those guys, and doing the same thing as him; Just in the air. As the group above seemed to continue their own conversations, he pulled out his own drinking container, of which hung from his pant's belt. Taking in the cool liquid, he gave a smile and nod of gratitude, he squinted his eyes into the distance, making out vaguely the pillars and entrance to the ruins they were headed for. Smiling, he looked up as Deion questioned him.
Shaking his head to the question, he quickly snapped his head and vision back forward, rolling his eyes back into his head as his annoyance with Deion was reaching the top. He was being lazy, he hadn't a real plan, what kind of mage was he? For one of the best in Fairy Tail, he was quite disappointed with the performance. Sure, he wasn't being the best either, but then again, he didn't organize the mission. At least he questioned whether or not they needed a plan.
Continuing their hike through the desert, the grains of sand shifted beneath his feet after each step. The occasional strong gusts of wind let Grant know that they were close, seeing as the man they were searching for was a Wind Mage. And you don't just get strong breezes in the desert everyday, you know? As his feet reached the end of sand, and the beginning of worn old rock, he took a glance behind him, looking up for Deion. "Well, what now then? Got a plan or something" He asked, a curious, fun tone filling his voice. He didn't want to act annoyed; It would make this mission that much more harder to bare. So, he would act happy. And shroud his fear in a cloud of it.
