Name: Spilled Booze Rank: S Posts Limit: 2 (min) 10(max) Objective: The guild has open bar night, and we would highly like you to kick out a few of the more rowdy drunks who are causing problems. Reward: 100 Exp:40
Durriken sat at a table to the left of the bar sipping a drink. It was dark and appeared to be liquor but was actually just juice. He didn’t want to get drunk tonight since magic and drunkenness never mixed well, part of the reason why he was here. People tend to get rowdy during the open bar nights especially if a member of Fairy Tail walked in. They always meant well but it was getting expensive to replace the tables and floor so it was best to get them out of the place before they caused too much damage. Under his drink he had a coaster and under that was the only card he would probably need here. It was his Ace of Staves. His sword was too sharp and would probably cause damage, the shield was not too useful on its own and his cup was just useless, he wondered why they just gave him that card for nothing. So that left him with a staff which would be useful for tripping people up or clubbing them over the head. Next to his drink he also had a large milkshake just in case a certain Guild Master decided to stop down for a drink. The party was getting pretty good though and he watched over his drink as he listened to the bank play and the people dance.

Riley had been asleep at her desk, having passed out at some point while filling out forms, when she began to hear a ruckus downstairs - not yet a violent one, mind you, merely the sounds of people having fun. She stirred, slowly at first, waking herself up and rubbing at her eyes as she yawned softly.
The teen rose from her desk, put on her jacket, taking a moment to fix her hair and rub the remainder of the sleep from her eyes, before making her way down the stairs, smiling absently as she noticed that everyone seemed to be having fun - and everything was still in one piece, too!
She weaved through the people, waving to them as she passed, before eventually noticing Durri sitting by himself, and he looked rather serious. The teen arched a brow before making her way towards him, plopping gently in the chair next to him, facing the door, she looked to him, then to his drinks, and chuckled, "thirsty tonight?" She playfully teased, her eyes soon flickering through the door, where several men were stumbling on, quite obviously very drunk already.
"Hm," she mused, blinking slowly as she watched them nearly tripping over themselves as they entered.

“Not really, that second one is for you, had a hunch you would be down eventually. It should still be cold enough.” He said with a smirk as he took a sip of his juice.
When the saw the drunk men walk in he pulled out the card an inch from under the coaster and touched it as it glowed gently. This partly activated the card for later use so it would take him less time to summon the staff.
“Excuse me for a moment Mistress I believe I see some trash that needs cleaned up.” He said getting up. When he did the card under the coaster floated out from under it and adhered itself to his wrist.
His eyes darted rapidly as he moved quickly through the crowd toward the bar which it was clear that is where the other men were heading. He twirled and shifted just out of people’s way with practiced ease. He was not going fast by normal standards but for this crowd he was. One thing you had to learn fast at the circus was moving through a crowd. You had to keep a look out for the small gaps that you could squeeze through and how to move out of people’s way and go with the flow. His bare feed made a thump thump thump sound on the hard wood floor and he flinched slightly as he jammed his toes from having to stop suddenly as a waitress with a tray of beers flew past.
As he got closer the card began to glow more brightly though with the flashing lights it was easy to ignore by the normal patrons. He got there just in time to see the man about to grope women’s bosoms. “Why aren’t theeesesss nithe” he slurred out but found his hand grabbed at the wrist.
When the women noticed she screeched and slapped the man across the face as she fled with her drink.
“Why yuh oc lock me kidth?” he mumbled out as the guys grumbled behind him.
“You are clearly drunk sir please leave.” He said firmly.
“Why you lithe” he went to punch the kid.
Durriken’s eyes darted to the left and his other arm the one with the card on his wrist rose.
“Tarot Art: Ace of Wands.” He said calmly sort of expecting this since the other man’s arm was currently stuck.
The card glowed brightly blinding the man for a moment as the magic circle appeared right in his face. If he was sober he would notice this was fairly different from normal magic having lots of roman numerals and astrological symbols as well as some alchemical symbols involved. This was the circle unique to the Tarot Magic. In Durriken’s hand a large staff appeared just in time to block the man’s punch.
“Uhhg” the man said as he punched hard wood.

"Oh really?" Riley asked, looking to the young man and easily noticing his smirking. She smiled a little in response to this, pulling the drink closer to herself and taking a somewhat long sip, as she was thirstier then she had realized, "mm, thanks~" She managed to say, before Durriken dismissed himself.
She watched him as he departed, silently admiring how easily he slipped between the people. He occasionally slid out of her site, but he was easy enough to find because of his clothing and the fact that he was practically the only person that was able to walk unhindered.
Her gaze continued to rest on him, curiously, as she drank thoughtlessly from her milkshake, quite enjoying it as it was a treat gifted to her by one of her guild member's.
She sipped happily at her milkshake, watching Durriken as he stopped an incident where a man had tried to cop a feel. The guild master frowned at this, setting her drink down as she was beginning to rise - only to be slapped in the face with a very sudden, very powerful brain freeze.
She practically collapsed back into the chair, "ugh, drank too fast," she whined to herself, putting her tongue to the roof of her mouth and massaging her temples with her finger tips.
When it had finally passed she breathed a sigh of relief, bringing herself to her feet, her emerald eyes flicking in Durri's direction, she noted that he was now holding some sort of staff, where it had come from, she had no idea, but she decided to head on over there even though it didn't seem like her particularly needed her help.
Riley weaved through crowd, though she had an easier time doing this then Durri had, as many people simply moved aside out of respect for her position when they spotted her approaching. Before long she had made it to his side, where she merely stood, watching with interest.
"You seem to know what you're doing," she mused, raising a hand up to gently stroke her chin as she thought, "I'll be watching, though, so I have your back," the guild master assured, clearly intent to allow him to get the combat experience.

Durriken’s eyes blazed when Riley arrived. He would not be shamed in front of his Guild Master again. The man stared at him a bit dazed at being stopped since in his mind he was an all powerful warrior who could not be stopped by a sixteen year old.
He let the staff drop from his hand as the one side hit the ground with a clang and it bounced slightly. When it did he shifted his stand backward and closer to the staff letting go of the man’s wrist and regrabbed the staff more in the middle. He then swept with his foot which kicked the staff in an arc with his hand acting as the fulcrum as it slipped through his hands. It appeared as if it was about to go to a very sensitive area but when Durriken tightened his grip further back on the staff it stopped a few inches away.
“Though you would deserve that.” He muttered out loud when he noticed how close it got.
He was glad the women moved or else he would have hit her in the head. He quickly extended his arm away from him which from his position on the staff made the staff go in the opposite direction pushing the man’s legs apart and having him fall on his face. All of this was done in under ten seconds.
The man groaned in pain as his two buddies reached into the belts and pulled out knives. Durriken’s eyes darted back and further between the two men as he weighed his options. One on one he was confident but two was another story. He wasn’t sure how much damage his staff could withstand from blocking those blades before it disappeared.
Both men jumped over their friend and swung their knives at Durriken. He caught them both on his staff but he was being pushed backward and he didn’t know how far he could bend his back before it would snap in half or he fell backward completely. While he was holding them off one guy on the side had a bright idea and punched Durriken right in the kidneys.

Riley watched with intrigue as Durri wielded his staff. The boy didn't seem to overly muscular, but he was certainly using his speed to his advantage, seeming to do so with relative ease, even!
She stifled a giggle as one of the men had his legs knocked out from under him and fell onto his face. Usually she did not laugh at the suffering of others, but this seemed to be particularly amusing to her, for whatever reason.
The teen tensed a little as knives were drawn. She took a step forwards as Durri blocked their attack, though it did not seem like he would be able to last long under the strain - and then a man pulled an incredibly cowardly move, even for a group that was teaming up on a kid, and punched Durri in the side.
The guild master, as mild and passive as she was, was angered by this. Not an outright in your face sort of angry, nor a temperamental one, but a calm, collect sort, in which she retained her composure, though she was clearly not impressed.
She had less physical strength that Durri, for certain, but that didn't matter when they were up against a few drunks. As one of the men wielding a knife decided to pull back and attempt to make a stab at Durri, she intervened, putting herself between the two, allowing the blade to pass seamlessly through the air alongside her, she grabbed the man's elbow, using his momentum to drag him down as she kneed him in the stomach. During his weakness she disarmed him, and as he knelt to the floor in pain she shoved him over with her foot.
"I wouldn't suggest getting up again," she said simply, eye narrowing for a moment before she turned to the man that had punched Durri, still wielding the knife, she tossed it up and down in her hand a little, flicking it from the blade side to the handle over and over again, without so much as nicking herself -which merely made the drunk laugh loudly.
The guild master huffed softly, hooking the knife into her belt before approaching the man. They sort of circled each other for a moment, before the man lunged at her. Riley easily repeated move that she had used previously when clearing out rowdy bar goers.
She fell onto her back on the table, pressed her feet firmly to the man's chest, and used both of their momentum to all but hurtled him out of the door.
"This feels very nostalgic," she stated, as she swung herself back onto her feet.

Durriken laughed as he saw the man sail out of the room and clutched his side in the pain that it caused in his side.
“I should take you to the circus sometime Mistress, you could do the main event.”
He looked at the deep gouges in the staff and with a sigh ended the magic going to the card and the staff faded from view with a small pop and a small flash of light. He then put the card back into his deck and flipped through the others till he found the Ace of Sword and Ace of Pentacles.
“Let’s see, I’ve been practicing with two at once, now is as good a time as ever to see how well it works outside of training.”
He held a card in each hand and breathed out slowly as he tossed both up and they hovered spinning as they glowed.
“Spirits of Tarot here my request, hark onto me the source of winds and the source of earth. Tarot Art: Ace of Swords, Tarot Art: Ace of Pentacles.”
At the completion of the chant which wasn’t really needed but he was a showman at heart the cards stopped spinning and flashed brightly as twin magical circles appeared. They were similar but different. The one for the sword had much more script and the script was in a cursive style font. The earth was much stronger looking with cuneiform style script.
From the Ace of Swords a simple steel long sword appeared of about three feet in length. It had no flair or magical properties. From the Ace of Pentacles emerged a simple wooden round shield of about two feet in diameter with a white pentacle emblazoned on the front. When they started to fall he grabbed the sword easily on the hilt but missed the center of the shield and had to grab it at the top. He was much more practiced with the sword than the shield.

Riley chuckled a little at Durri's words, even blushed a bit as she grinned somewhat stupidly, "oh? I don't know about that, but it certainly sounds interesting," she hopped down off of the table, clearly at least slightly amused.
She watched with interest as he began to use his magic. This time she was much closer to him, and so she could actually see what was happening. He threw two cards into the air, where they hovered and spun, glowing. He chanted something, which the cards reacted to, gifting him a shield and sword. So that's where the staff came from earlier, she mused, glancing around and noticing that the men were getting idle.
"I'll let you take over," she decided, leaning slightly against the table, she watched him intently, "tell me if you need my help, otherwise I'll let you handle it, I was told not to coddle people so much, heh." She rubbed awkwardly at the side of her neck for a moment.
"But I think you can handle it from here, there are only a couple of men left and you've proven you're a talented fighter," she encouraged, crossing her legs slightly as she rest more of her weight against the table.
"Just keep an eye on the people around you~"

He tossed the shield twice juggling it until his hand caught it correctly in the center and he could actually wield it. He wondered how much good it would do him since he was so used to using the sword alone. He just gained enough endurance to have both present outside of the Otherverse where things of the Tarot dwelt.
The otherverse was interesting, it was a place removed from time and space. This is what gave the Tarot the ability to predict the future some believed. It wasn’t really seeing into the future since everything that is, has been, or may be exist exactly at the same time to the spirits of the Otherverse.
A man from a nearby table stood a bit uneasy on his feet as the other men on the table laughed and cheered him on. It appeared as if he was going to try and prove his manhood to his friends by taking on this small looking gypsy.
“I shou him whose tuff heee…hic” he said as he pulled a glowing sword.
Durriken didn’t know what the sword could do but he found out soon enough. The man ran at him with the sword and when Durriken parried with his sword he yelped in surprise and pain. The sword was electric and the shock traveled through his metal sword and up his arm and set his nerves alight. If it wasn’t for a quick shield bash with his other arm with the non-conductive shield he would have probably dropped the sword and had it vanish.
“Not so tuff re ye hic….pisqueek” he laughed and said.
“Hold this for a second please” he said quickly to Riley as he ducked a sword slash losing the tip of his hair in the process.
The area between him and the bar was quite clear now since nobody wanted to get hurt in the fighting so he did a sprint and then jump and tumbled across the bar rolling as he landed on the other side. He got up quickly and saw the guy running at him. He reached under the bar and grabbed a bottle of carbonated water and gave it a quick shake. He then grinned at the man as he got close enough he let loose the bottle soaking the man to the bone.
“Wait for it….” He said and then grinned as the man yelled loudly in pain and dropped the sword and hoped out of the puddle of water beneath him out the door of the bar.

Riley continued to watch the fight with interest, not simply because it was a fight, but also because Durriken was rather amusing. He seemed like her, in a sense, where he had to use his speed and the environment to his advantage, but that was a good thing, really. Being inventive in a fight could make all the difference.
She winced a little instinctively when swords clashed, but her green eyes did not leave her guildmate - though they widened a little when he stopped to hand her off what he had been holding. She accepted, blinking a tad stupidly as he leaped over the bar counter, took a bottle, shook it and sprayed it at the man that had been chasing him.
Not long after the man howled in pain and all but bolted out the front door.
The guild master chuckled to herself, and she likely would have clapped as well if she didn't have things in her hands.
"Very good," she smiled, noting that the atmosphere seemed to be restored to the bar almost immediately after the rowdy men were all kicked out, "I'm impressed!" She went on to say, still laughing just a little.
"We should do a mission together sometime," she suggested, looking thoughtful, "well, a field mission, anyways. Really, I'd like to get a bunch of people together to do a mission, but people are notoriously hard to find..."

“I can understand that, it isn’t exactly wanderlust but with missions everyone is either coming or going. I think I would enjoy doing a mission sometime mistress.” He said never daring to decline such an offer. “I just hope I can get some new cards by then so I might be able to hold my own better. It seems like the old cards are as hard to find here as they were in the circus, so far I only got four which doesn’t give me many options.”
When he said how he had four cards he remembered that she was holding his sword and shield so with a relax of his back muscles and neck he cut the supply of power going to the activated cards and they disappeared with a slight sucking noise but no physical effect.
“It would be amazing to find a major arcane card but I heard they were all lost or destroyed. There is probably a few floating around but who knows where they are or what they are being used for. Apparently the major arcane can summon major archetypes of reality and personality or other such supernatural beings.” After he finished the bartender grumbled about the kid wasting an entire bottle of carbonated water.
“Oh…now where did I put my money bag, I guess I should be paying for that…”

"Excellent," Riley nodded her head firmly, still holding onto the shield and sword without noticing it much. "If you find one you like, just come get me and we can do it together," she suggested, giving a soft smile. Her expression turned somewhat thoughtful as he spoke of his cards. "Hmm, well, you never know what you'll find," she mused, though something was bugging her for some reason. She had seen his cards previously, but it hadn't really occurred to her at the time, but she seemed to recall seeing such a card laying about somewhere.
She had just thought it a fancy playing card at the time, but upon further thought it was likely one such card that Durriken was looking for. He made his shield and sword disappear, and one hand rose to her face, where she gently tapped at her lips. Where did I see that, I wonder? She mused to herself - remaining as such for a few minutes before sighing a little, I'll look for it later, I have no idea where I saw it. When I manage to find it I'll give it to him, though... I hope it's what he's looking for!
"Don't believe everything you hear," Riley said simply, both of her hands falling to rest gingerly on her hips, "perhaps those who know where they are would prefer you to think that. You're be surprised what sort of 'lost' magics you can stumble upon, and they're usually in the strangest places... Like missing socks," she chuckled a little to herself, before glancing to the guild bartender.
"I'll pay for it, since you bought me a milkshake," she said simply, while laughing softly. Money wasn't exactly a problem for her, so she stuck a hand into her pocket and pulled out some coins, tossing them across the counter to the bartender, whom was easily silenced.
"Seems we're done here, though," she pointed out to Durriken, running her fingers lightly through her dark hair, "and it's pretty late, so I think I'll be going home," her hands fell to her sides, and she smiled at Durriken as she turned to leave, giving him a playful salute with her hand, "until next time~"
