Name:Clean the Basement Rank:7-C Ranks Post Limit:3 Posts Objective:The Griffin Wing guild has collected many many items over the years and have been storing much of it in the basement. The items range from books, pictures, and just junk, to magical items and artifacts. There is even one item that nobody knows what it does but pulses with menacing energy and because of such was bound in protective spells by the first guild master.
Same as D-Rank but much deeper into the basement where critters magical and mundane my dwell who do not like their space being intruded on and their homes destroyed by the shuffling of items. Reward: 50 XP and the pride from helping the guild.
Durriken decided to return down to the basement and this time venture deeper into its depths. He wore the same get up as last time with the addition of a pair of bright yellow latex gloves. He came down with a lantern this time and more boxes. This time he also was also on guard since he was getting closer to the scurrying and growling he heard during his previous visit. He made his way through the first room noting how it was much cleaner than his last visit. He made his way to a fairly new looking door. It was made out of a hard wood with an older fashioned key lock and iron bands riveted in place to make the door stronger. He tried the door and found it locked which wasn’t surprising really. He was tempted to ask Riley for the key but it was probably long since lost. He could have also gotten his lock pick set but that involved a small walk to his apartment. After staring at the door for a few minutes he decided to just to break the lock. It would make it easier for people to continue cleaning since if he picked it, it would look behind him. He took out his Five of Swords and held it right at the opening to the lock. The card flared to life with his unique purple gypsy magic circle and the lock gave a loud clicking sound as he blasted the tumblers to bits within the mechanism. He then gave the door a gentle push and it swung open with a loud creek.

He grabbed his lantern again as he put his card back into his deck. The light illuminated much of the room. It was filled nearly to the brim with boxes and chests and even a small wardrobe. It would take him multiple days to clean out this room. As he took a step in though he had to jump back thankful for his fast reflexes.
His breaking of the lock and then entering the room did not make the current residents happy. When he entered three rats with a strange blue glow leapt at him their tiny teeth barred and making an evil hissing sound. If they were normal rats he would have tried to catch them in a box or something and remove them but it wouldn’t be right to let magically mutated rats to roam the town. Who knows what could happen if they bit someone.
He pulled his Five of Wands and pointed them at the first rat letting loose a fireball hitting it straight and sending it flying back into the room where is squeaked once and then stopped moving. He fired two more times at the rats hitting each one as he side stepped their leaping attacks. He probably could have used his Nine of Swords to create a whirlwind that would have killed them or impaled them with his Ten of Swords but he didn’t feel like cleaning up the blood caused by his air cards. At least with a fireball the heat would cauterize the wound and stop any real bleeding.

Keeping an eye out he went over to the first box and give it a swift kick to make sure nothing was in it. When nothing moved within the box after a kick he opened it and found even more books which he put safely into a new box before setting it outside the door he just came through. He repeated this process with a few more boxes before he decided to tackle the wardrobe.
When he opened the wardrobe he squealed like a little girl and he was happy nobody was around to hear it. Within there was a giant hairy spider just hanging in front of the clothes within the wardrobe. He never really liked spiders and this didn’t help. He couldn’t even squash or burn the thing because of the cloths behind it, they looked fairly high quality and if someone in the guild wanted them it would be nice to let them have them.
The spider barred its fang and spit a venom at Durriken. Durriken wasn’t expected that from a spider since normally spiders don’t spit their venom so he was hit in the thigh. He hissed at the burning pain. He quickly summoned his Ace of Cups which appeared filled to the brim with water which he then poured over his leg as he sighed in relief. Just as quickly as the cup appeared it vanished. He backed up out of spitting distance as he tried to figure out how to handle the thing. He pulled out two cards and sighed at how he was using his first card combination on a spider.
In his left hand he had the Nine of Swords and in his right hand he had the King of Swords. Below him two spell circles appeared in a beautiful harmony of lines and symbols. In front of him a small feeble looking whirlwind that wasn’t spinning fast enough to slice its victim to bits. It flew at the spider locking the beast within and then the card in his right hand flared and he controlled the winds pulling them back into the middle of the room. His left hand flared brighter as he pumped more power into his whirlwind and it began to spin faster the force of the wind crushing the spider with only a small splatter escaping the winds.
He let out a held breath when his plan worked and he walked over to the wardrobe not noticing any other spiders though he doubted another could have fit within. He picked an item at random and dusted it off noticing the richness of the fabric. These could be sold for a nice amount so he boxed them gently making sure to not leave any fold marks and marked the box as “Valuable”
With his leg starting to burn again and his skin starting to crawl he decided to leave the rest of the room for later as he moved the boxes from outside the door back with the others by the stairs.
