A bolt of white lightning would come crashing down and would decimate the ground around Shinzu. Strangely, despite the crater that had now formed around him, the guild master for the most part appeared to be just fine. “See? Like that!” Once again, Shinzu would demonstrate by clasping his hands together, the act of which causing the heavens to split open and bleed more bolts of lightning onto the surrounding area with little aim or purpose. Instead, they simply annihilated the training grounds and resulted in clusters of damaged concrete.
“Simple! Focus on the mana you have locked away inside of you. Tap into it and- Boom!” Shinzu would part with a cheesy grin at the end of his speech. His words were aimed at Melo, who appeared to be safe from all of the destruction. In fact, the ground in a five meter radius around her appeared to be untouched by the lightning storm. “Give it your best effort!” The guild masters intentions were clear. He was training Melo to unlock her hidden potentional.

Her body ached. Ever since she had joined Lion Heart her appetite had been little to none. After her first two days there spending most of it feeling oddly weaker than usual, Shinzu was adamant on showering how to use her magic. Something she knew well how to do, but due to her feeling like she owed him (and her strong respect for him) she moved after him out into the training area.
From what it seemed, he was showing her how to use his magic. A crash of lightning hit the ground and Melodium stood there in awe watching it. Pushing back the fatigue that had devoured her small, frail body; she watched in sheer awe at the magnificence. "See? Like that!” It felt like she was watching a ground storm as the lights danced everywhere. "Simple! Focus on the mana you have locked away inside of you. Tap into it and- Boom!” Did he really expect her to pull off such an advanced and yet eloquent move? She gazed at her hands, examining the tiny scratches; swinging her legs in thought from the chair she had perched herself on. "It looks hard!" She objected, a frown on her lips. "I don't think I can do it.." "Give it your best effort!” Shinzu seemed to object and press her. With her blonde hair falling over the chair and over her lap, her head tilted upward to see him with a frown. She felt like she was going to fail miserable and be laughed at, but nonetheless she decided to give it a go.
Moving forward with swift motions which are almost robotic; she pressed her hands together behind her and rocked back and forth from the tip of her foot to the ball of her heel, looking curiously ahead. Finally she closed her eyes and took a slow, deep breath. Wind began to engulf her in a visible dark grey cloud as it circled her body and sent her hair flying in all directions. Trying hard to focus on this new concoction, the wind tickled her body and then it seemed like she felt like she was ready. Pressing her hands to either side of her lips with the tip of her fingers and the bottom of her palms touching, she began to scream and out came a blast of wind that formed a vortex ahead of her that spread out and creating a crater in the ground following the trail of wind. When the scream had stopped, Melo grinned proudly at herself for accomplishing it.
"There, I did it..." With that said, Melody found herself with her face against the dirt and her body shivering. She couldn't feel her magic in her body any more.
⦿ Spell Name: Wind Magic: Shinatobe's cry ⦿ Level: B ⦿ Range: 45 feet ⦿ Description: This spell is solely there to decimate the area. Melodium parts her lips and holds her hands over the side of her lips before screaming at the top of her lungs. An echo-y cry will escape her lips, flying through the air in a visible vortex which spreads out the further it goes destroying everything in its path. ⦿ Drawback: It will cause a lot of damage to her voice if done repeatedly. It consumes a lot of her energy and magic. It lasts one post Due to its damage scaling more the further it goes, this means that she's completely vulnerable from her sides and back.

“Not hard at all.” Shinzu nodded to himself. Having for the most part taught himself how to use magic, he couldn’t really sympathise with Melo’s reluctance to take the stage. In fact, he considered the young girl lucky to have a mentor as opposed to being forced to push herself and find her own limits. “Just focus. All the power you need is deep inside of you! Just tap into that and push yourself!” Shinzu smirked as he backed away from Melo. In the event that she succeeded, there was no telling how much destruction she would cause, let alone whether or not she would be able to control her spell well enough to not have it target her humble tutor.
“S-She’s doing it!” Shinzu’s smirk widened as Melo screamed, unleashing a vortex of wind in all directions. In response to this, the guild master would simply transform his body into lightning and allow the wind to tear at him until it would stop, at which point he would simply reform. “Great jo- Melo!” The look of joy on Shinzu’s expression would shift to distraught as Melo began to lose her balance and topple over. “Melo!” He howled as he rushed over to the girl just in time to scoop her up from the cold ground.
“What is wrong!?” Shinzu would drop onto his knees and offer his legs as a cushion to the girl as he attempted to diagnose her condition. “The DCD virus? No… She hasn’t been in contact with anyone infected…” Worries would begin flooding the guild master's head as he noticed the girl’s uncontrollable shivering, the sight of which would prompt him to remove his black jacket. “Are you cold?” He asked before draping the jacket over Melo as a makeshift blanket.
“Melo! Speak to me!” Things were getting serious. It didn’t take a genius to know that the girl had most likely pushed herself way too far.

Shinzu had encouraged her to cast the magic. As she tried to muster all her strength into her attack, she had found herself staggering side to side with an unsteady footing in front of him with a triumphant gaze. As she spoke, she found herself staggering as she looked up at him. "Great jo- Melo!" His voice that was joy soon changed to worry and Melodium found herself colliding with the floor. It was like slow motion; her hair was trailing behind her as the ground approached her and she found herself hitting it at full force. “Melo!” His voice echoed her mind and she found herself shivering. She had no idea why, but she didn't feel scared. In fact, she felt like she was warm. His scent enveloped her and she found herself holding it close. Closing her eyes slowly as the darkness began to envelope her fully, she found herself lulling off into a deep sleep; breathing slowly. The last words she heard cry out were; "Melo! Speak to me!” When she opened her eyes, she found herself staring at the familiar sight of her bedroom from her home. Looking to the right, she had a thermometer in her mouth and a cool flannel on her forehead. "You're awake, my darling?" The familiar voice of her mother who brushed her fingers over Melo's hair with a warm smile on her lips. Melo watched her with confusion. She turned her head to look up at the ceiling, the smell wasn't the usual smell of lavender and rose, in fact it was foreign and unfamiliar. Melodium tried to sit up, but her mother denied her the capability. In fact she pushed her back down and denied her the ability. Melo's eyes watched her before she closed her eyes, finding the whole experience weird. Her eyes once more opened with a quick movement of the lids, she found herself gazing upward at the ceiling. The scent that enveloped her reminded her of her dream. In fact, as she looked down she found herself tucked in her bed with her teddy sat beside her looking confused with two glass eyes. Slowly sitting up, Melo moved her arm out and touched the teddy's head before gazing around. She recognised the room instantly. This was her new home. Pulling forward her pyjama shirt, completely oblivious to the fact she had been changed out of her clothes; she gazed at the guild mark that sat on her shoulder and she nodded. With the dream rolling around in her mind, she turned to get out of the bed despite her body feeling like lead and looked up towards her door. With the soft and warm scent of her duvet leaving her; she stood up carefully despite her world spinning in an eternal circle slowly, she proceeded to walk forward slowly. Breathing slowly, and deeply.

Shinzu’s body quivered as he held Melo. Even through the jacket draped over her, he could feel the slight warmth of her body heat. “Mel…” He winced as he supported the child’s fragile body. Physically, there seemed to be no cause for her shivering, meaning that there could only be one answer. “Magic Deficiency Syndrome…” The guild master would look down on the now unconscious girl solemnly. Although indirectly, he had done this to her and now he would have to bear the consequences of his actions. “I will save you. No matter the cost.”------ “How is she?” Shinzu questioned, only to get back a shrug. The medics at Lion Heart were working tirelessly, however, there was little they could do. Magic Deficiency Syndrome was ordinarily a condition that most wizards just naturally shrugged off after several days of unconscious rest. However, due to her young age, the guild master had already been warned in advance that Melo’s body may not be able to cope with the ailment. “Damn it. I cannot fail her.” In a fit of rage, Shinzu would exit the room the young girl had been stationed in several minutes before she would wake from her slumber, though not before venting his frustrations through a harsh slam of the wooden door.“Mel…” In contrast to his previous fury, Shinzu would simply slump down lifelessly upon exiting the room. Despite the strong demeanour he had just put on, he felt lost. Melo’s condition was his fault and his alone. “Phantasm Conjuration.” The words escaped the defeated guild master’s lips lifelessly. “Go.” He said as a pale white blob sweated out of his palm and phased through the door to enter the room Melo had been left in. The ghoul would then sit beside the girl, watching over her silently as its master pondered over what to do next. “If she gets any nightmares that should help her out… And in the meantime, I need to save her.”

Melodium found herself slowly walking across the room with a staggered gait as she made her way towards the door. His voice echoed from the other side of the door. Her face flushed with a fever, Melo's hands reached out and her palms pressed to the cold door. She was aware of the phantasmal guardian across the room, she may not be able to see it, but she could sense it. Pressing her cheek to the door, she closed her eyes and listened carefully. Sinking down to her knees, Melo's ears listened carefully. She heard a click of the door and a person in white came into the room, dropping their clipboard at the sight of Melo slumped up against the door.
"Oh dear," They mused running over and taking the child by the wrist. "You silly thing, you shouldn't be walking around. You need to rest if you want to get better!" The woman in white frowned with concern as she hauled the kid up onto her feet. "I can hear him, he's sad." Melodium yanked her wrist from the woman's hand. "I don't want him to be sad." She pressed her hand on the door handle, but once again was pulled away and guided to the bed where she was sat and had a thermometer placed in her mouth. "Sit still and just let me do a few tests." The woman came in close with a needle and Melodium instantly freaked out. This woman was coming towards her with a utensil in hand that was sharp and she watched it come closer with each step before instantly screaming. Grabbing a pillow, she clutched both sides tight and flung it at the woman. "Stay away from me you, you monster!" She grabbed the duvet next and hid herself in it.
"MELODIUM!" The nurse cried, gripping the needle tightly as the pillow hit her in the face and caused her to stagger backwards. Staring at the cocoon in disbelief, she folded her arms and watched. "I'll count to three and if that cocoon is not off you in the next three seconds I'll forcefully take it off." One..." No response, not even a movement. "Two..." Still nothing. "THREE!" Still not even a movement. "THAT'S IT!"

Shinzu could hear light footsteps approaching the door. “Melo…” He muttered once more silently under his breath. Suddenly, he would get a flashback to the first time the duo had met each other. Specifically, the moment where Melo had run away and Shinzu had been forced to find her by listening out for the rumbling of her belly and the shortness of her tired breath. “Whatever happened to that purse?” The guild master would smirk at the thought, though would have his nostalgic moment interrupted as one of the Lion Heart medic’s appeared.
“Apologies.” He mumbled before shuffling to the side so that the lady in white could have unimpeded access to the door. “Mel…” Shinzu would groan and his eyes would become teary and moist. He didn’t like the sound of what was going on inside and that would only get worse as Melo’s sympathy would change into panic at the sight of a needle. “I am not going to fail you again!” Shrugging off his depression like an afterthought, the guild master would push himself off the ground and charge straight into the room to protect Melo who by this point had already cocooned herself within her bedsheets.
“That’s enough!” He roared, stopping the nurse in her tracks. At that moment, Shinzu would slide over to the cocoon of bedsheets before poking the ball of white with his finger. At that moment, Melo would feel a tingle that would tickle her along her spine before making its way to her head. “Wakey wakey.” He grinned as the bedsheets would be thrust off Melo as the girl’s hair shot upwards wildly and uncontrollably in a rather comical fashion due to Shinzu’s static discharge. “Right I am taking Melo on an adventure. What does she need for a trip to Mount Hakobe? I assume something to keep her warm?” The nurse’s expression would change to pure shock at Shinzu’s suggestion. Before answering, she couldn’t help but object at the very idea. “I know what I am doing. There are some herbs on the mountain that will help her, however, the journey is far too long for a return trip. I have to take her with me.”

Melodium's eyes closed tightly as she trembled under the duvet. She felt physically and mentally exhausted. Her shirt sleeves were hanging loosely around her elbows with the duvets wrapped tightly around her. She began to feel hot and bothered in her cocoon. While her nurse counted down, she trembled beneath the duvet with tears in her eyes despite not crying. Her hair sprawled over her back and against the duvet and the mattress. The angered voice of her nurse echoed through the room as she dove to grab the blankets and tear them off Melodium just before Shinzu intervened by yelling loudly. When Shinzu intervened, the Nurse jumped and looked at him with one hand clutched onto the duvet ready to tear off the bed. Her eyes stared in surprise at the Guild Master before she straightened up and let go of the duvet and fix her white coat.
The warmth felt nice around Melodium even though it was beginning to get hotter underneath the covers. Melodium's body heat was mixing with that of the duvet and her own fever seemed to disagree with it. Closing her eyes and staying quiet, she felt something trace slowly up her back and send a small shiver down her spine. "Wakey wakey.” The voice she had quickly grown very used to caused her to take a slow deep breath before she slowly relaxed her grip on the duvet. Within seconds the blanket was removed off her and Melodium found herself being embraced with scents of all kinds. Covering her nose with her hands, she groaned and listened to the static of her hair as the duvet was swiftly removed. "Right I am taking Melo on an adventure. What does she need for a trip to Mount Hakobe? I assume something to keep her warm?” "You've got to be joking?" There was humour and sheer surprise in the nurses voice as she stared with disbelief towards the guild master. "You're not serious?" Seconds passed and she looked towards Melodium. "I know what I am doing. There are some herbs on the mountain that will help her, however, the journey is far too long for a return trip. I have to take her with me.” Shinzu's voice caused the Nurse to scowl. He was being serious. Giving a look of uncertainty towards the child he was on about, the Nurse pondered. "You know this is far too out of my jurisdiction. You wanted me to help her get better, but it seems like I have no choice." With a sigh, the nurse fumbled through her pockets. "If you know what you need to get then I won't stop you," She grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down things on it. "It's a Mountain so it's going to be cold and snowy so she'll need gear that can help against that and food too, since she's sick and hasn't really eaten -" with a quick look towards Melodium who was sat on her knees staring at them with a reddened, spacey expression on her face, "You probably should give her health food to keep her strength up, from then on it's all up to luck." The Nurse leaned against the wall and looked towards Shinzu and the smaller girl, her eyes watching her carefully with the piece of paper in her hand holding it out towards him.
Melodium looked between the two as they spoke, her tears still in the corners of her eyes as she watched them. Moving to sit properly on her legs with her hands between her legs, it seemed like Shinzu had a plan. Mount Hakobe? She had never heard of that place before. Cocking her head to the side, her blonde hair fell over her face and she watched the two through strands of hair.

“What do you think, Melo? Do you wish to stay with the stinky old nurse or come on an adventure with me?” Shinzu would grin at the end of his sentence. He already knew Melo’s answer, or at the very least, he hoped that he did. “We both have little choice.” The guild master would aim the words at the nurse sternly. “There is no cure for Magic Deficiency Disease. It is only something a mage can overcome through their own physical strength and willpower. As much as I would love to leave Melo here, we both know with her body being in the condition that it is, you cannot do any more other than prolong the inevitable.” At the end of his sentence, Shinzu would sigh as he wrapped a hand around the sickly blonde-haired girl. “The herbs I speak of will not cure her, but it will strengthen her body in more ways than one. It will give her a real fighting chance.”Shinzu would then take the note from the nurse and read over the contents to ensure that it contained everything that he needed. “Alright Mel, shopping time.” With a grin, the guild master would scoop the girl off her bed and carry her all the way towards a rather old fashioned-looking building, whether she wanted to or not. ------ “Hello?” As Shinzu entered the shop, the sound of an old bell would ring in the air, the act of which causing an old grey-haired man in a suit to appear. “Welcome sir!” Said the tailor in a rather comically high-pitched tone. He would then gesture at the surroundings, which would cause Shinzu’s eyes to drift at the numerous rolls of fabric littered around the shop. “I need something warm for the little one here. And perhaps a scarf for myself.” Shinzu would snicker to himself. Despite the urgency of Melo’s condition, he couldn’t help but want to splash out a little on himself. “Alright Mel, pick out some colours you like. This gentleman will make sure whatever you want will be nice and comfortable for the trip ahead.”

"What do you think, Melo? Do you wish to stay with the stinky old nurse or come on an adventure with me?” His question caused Melodium to just cock her head and give him a questioning look for a brief amount of time. She shifted her gaze towards the nurse and sniffed the air just to get a strong, burning sensation of medication which made her recoil and cover her nose. The joys of a sensitive nose. The Nurse looked far from amused and Melodium gave her an awkward smile. "You, please?" She asked with her nose still covered with her hands to warn off the smell of all-things surgical. The nurse objected and it seemed like Shinzu wasn't going to take none of it, "We both have little choice.” His response was brief and yet stern. "There is no cure for Magic Deficiency Disease. It is only something a mage can overcome through their own physical strength and willpower. As much as I would love to leave Melo here, we both know with her body being in the condition that it is, you cannot do any more other than prolong the inevitable.” The warm sensation of something enveloping her shoulders caused her to look up at him and blink her eyes while confusion was written on her face. His warm, comforting scent enveloped her body and she found herself being lulled into it. "The herbs I speak of will not cure her, but it will strengthen her body in more ways than one. It will give her a real fighting chance.” She didn't know what he was on about and the nurse seemed to be at a loss for words. Instead, she just offered him the piece of paper she had written on and kept herself propped against the wall. "Alright Mel, shopping time.” The sensation of the bed soon disappeared from her body as she found herself being lifted up off it and her arms instantly snaked themselves around Shinzu's neck and she stuck close, her head peering over his shoulder as they left the room and the building. The new scents soon replaced the smells of the drugs and antiseptic items and she found herself embraced with the smells of freedom and everything that an animal would enjoy. Melodium's eyes closed and she found herself enjoying this new sensation and the faint rocking of Shinzu as he carried her, daring not to move. Part of her fearing she weighed a lot and he was struggling to carry her. It seemed, though, before long they had entered a new building and the smell of clothes hit Melodium like a ton of bricks. Opening her eyes in surprise at the sound of a bell being rung and the sight of an old man pulled her attention away from the fabric. He looked way too enthusiastic and Melodium didn't quite know what to think of him. Her blue eyes just flashed with confusion as she found herself being placed on the floor. Taking hold of the sleeve of his arm between her thumb and index finger, she looked around the building before drawing her attention towards Shinzu. "Why are w-""I need something warm for the little one here. And perhaps a scarf for myself.” Looking down at her own clothes, Melodium twirled around awkwardly. What was wrong with her current attire? Baffled by this mystery, it seemed like both of the men's attention was now on her. "Alright Mel, pick out some colours you like. This gentleman will make sure whatever you want will be nice and comfortable for the trip ahead.” Refusing to pull her hand away from his sleeve, she lifted her free hand to her lips and gazed around with curiosity at all the clothes. Cocking her head to the side, her long hair fell over her face. Moving a small distance away from him, her hand stayed clutched to his sleeve like she was afraid she'd lose him with she lost him. Biting onto the bottom of her sleeve, she gazed around the room before pointing to some clothes that just happened to catch her eye. Looking towards Shinzu, she put on a small smile behind the sleeve and moved close again.

Shinzu took note of Mel’s comment and the way in which she would inspect her clothing. “Mount Hakobe is a snowy region. The temperature is something you can probably adjust to, however, not in those clothes.” With Shinzu’s sleeve tightly clutched in Mel’s hand, the guild master would be reluctant to leave his position and instead, just simply remained by her side. “That one for the lady and this for me.” In response to the command, the shopkeeper would grab some fabric and begin weaving it into a perfect replica of the outfit Melo had just pointed out in a matter of seconds. “I believe this will fit you, m’lady.” The shop keeper would bow before handing the folded outfit to Melo, which would be oddly warm to the touch.
Likewise, the shopkeeper would then use the leftovers of the fabric to weave Shinzu a rather lengthy scarf that would match the blue-hue of the girl’s outfit. “As always, your business is a pleasure sir.” In response to this, Shinzu would give the shopkeeper a smile before dismissing himself and Melo from the shop. “Send the tab to Lion Heart. I shall put this under… crucial expenses.” The guild master couldn’t help but snicker under his breath. Being the leader of the guild, he couldn’t help but sometimes bend the rules to his favour. Especially when it came to using money that belonged to the guild’s treasury.
“Alright, no time to lose. Next stop will be food.” Although the clothes looked mundane, they were a product of the shopkeeper’s fabric-magic. For that reason, Shinzu wouldn’t give Melo the opportunity to try them on until they reached a much colder climate. If a normal person tried them on in the middle of Shirotsume, then they would probably sweat themselves half to death in the middle of the bright summer day.
“Grocery time.” Shinzu would then barge into a little bakery and grab several sticks of oddly coloured bread before presenting them to the large-busted lady behind the counter. “Oh? Not like you to be healthy.” She giggled, the act of which causing Shinzu to blush. “They are for Mel over here. She needs to keep her strength up… So don’t tell her about how you make your bread.” The guild master would be sure to whisper the words so that Melo would not overhear and grow suspicious of the ploy. All she needed to know was that the bread was highly nutritious and no doubt, her nose would pick up on nothing more than the sweet aroma of freshly baked bread. “Her nose is strong, but I doubt even she will be able to sniff out the stuff that goes into this bread…”

"Mount Hakobe is a snowy region. The temperature is something you can probably adjust to, however, not in those clothes.” Shinzu replied to her question. Snow? Snow was the white, cold puffy stuff that would land on the floor and cover the trees with its coat. Melo recollected the times she played in the snow with her mother and father within the trees being leafless. Melo's heart wrenched at the memory. Was the mountain always snowy? Where was the mountain he was on about anyway? With her hand held tightly onto his sleeve and her eyes trailing the area, her blue eyes were filled with wonder before she pinpointed her desired attire and pointed to it. "That one for the lady and this for me.” Melodium found herself blushing. Lady. Hehe. What was the difference between a lady and a girl anyway?
The man began to create her desired outfit by hand and she watched in awe as he infused every fine stitch with magic. Her blonde hair fell loosely over her shoulders and she kept a solemn expression. "I believe this will fit you, m’lady.” The warm fabric was placed over her free arm, she looked down at it and embraced the warmth before pulling it close. It seems what was leftover was used to wrap around Shinzu's neck. "Send the tab to Lion Heart. I shall put this under… crucial expenses.” Shinzu spoke and Melo's head cocked to the side. "What's a tab?" She asked curiously, her eyes not leaving the man. "I'm confused."
As they left the building, Melodium's fingers stayed pinching the older man's sleeve as they made their way down through the marketplace. "Grocery time.” His words echoed through Melo's head and the already-tired child just sighed heavily. That sounded really boring, but decided it was best to not complain she just went along with it. They walked into a bakery and the overpowering aroma of all things sweet enveloped the child and her stomach rumbled. Realising just how malnourished she really was she began to salivate and strands of drool ran down the corner of her lip. Wiping it away, the guod master grabbed some bread sticks that looked strangely suspicious with the colour? The sight of the woman from the counter caused Melodium's eyes to widen at the size of her chest. Letting go of his sleeve just to cup her chest caused her to feel slightly awkward. "SO that's a lady..." She mused.
Standing afar while Shinzu whispered to the woman, Melo felt a pang of jealousy and puffed her cheeks up as she watched the two talk. Inhaling the air, she pinpointed the woman's perfume and coughed on it, shifting her head to the side. "That lady is not special, that perfume to is too strong."

“A tab is like… When you owe someone money. They just, put it on the tab and then bill that to you. Kinda.” Shinzu scratched his head. Truth be told, he had no idea what a tab was. He just enjoyed using the phrase. The guild masters focus would then turn to Melo who seemed to be drooling at the sight of all the food. “Thank you.” He shot the shop keeper a smile before leaving the bakery and handing Melo a small piece of bread that he would tear off from the larger stick. “Eat up. No sense in leaving you hungry.” Shinzu had no doubt that Melo would enjoy the food. Still, he couldn’t help but stare at the girl as she bit into the oddly-textured bread. “I hope she doesn’t figure out what is in there…” The guild master would shudder at the thought. “Oh!” He exclaimed before looking back at the direction the duo had just come from. “We require a means of travel… Let’s head back to the guild. We can pick up some drinking water from the bar too.” Being quite a lengthy walk, Shinzu would place the sticks of bread under his armpit and once again scoop up Melo in order to carry her to the guild. [Temporary exit to the Lion Heart Bar]
