Be the Legend That the World Wants You to Be Indignation --- Auvic words: 503 ❥ THE CHANGES WERE evident to say the least. The former decay and ruin, the shambling remains of a ravaged paradise replaced with a vibrance that concealed everything. If one were to look now, the idea of anything being off would be folly. Yet Nikolai could accept it. Things didn't change that fast, no matter the situation. There would be something, and he could catch it. So he hadn't left yet, despite the quarantines end. He'd bum around for a few days, watching for any action before going on. Not like he had done anything to dull the flames so far, but he felt committed. So he watched, scanning the streets for any cracks in the visage; the trickles of frustration through the mask of enjoyment.
Kowan sighed, the creature once more seeing fault in his decision. The two were rarely on the same page, yet he tended to let Nikolai do as he pleased. That didn't prevent him from complaining, however. 'Why are we still here? There's no reason for us to remain any longer. We're simply wasting time now. We could have been several cities over by this point.' Kowan knew why they were there. He felt Nikolai's emotions, just as the reverse was true. That did not mean he understood them however. To him, they were illogical, and foreign, with no reason to be followed. Every day Nikolai was reminded how inhuman his partner was. He felt no real point in the debate, but it's not like much else was happening. His focus dimming, no longer watching the streets with the same accuracy. 'We're not on any schedule. There's nothing wrong with me staying a few extra days to see if I can help somehow. You can't tell me this whole situation doesn't bother you to?' 'You're correct. Something is off, but that should help motivate us to move. Whoever did this is beyond our limits if the situation escalates in some manner. Leave.' 'Things seem weird but tha-'
The debate was ended by another party. A shriek, shrill and loud, penetrated his ears. Nikolai had lost too much focus, and hadn't noticed the scene to prevent it. The source of the noise was an older woman, seemingly petrified outside her hand, which was flung in the direction of another figure. A larger man, bright pink purse in his had, making his apparent escape. Unfortunately, Nikolai was in that path, and with an extended foot and hand, he both tripped the man and stole the purse back. He blinked, having moved and reacted on instinct before he mind could keep up. That was to his benefit though, for as his senses returned he felt the pressure of his actions. He had assaulted someone without thinking, nor knowing the situation. What he had hurt someone innocent? What if he had misunderstood. He stood frozen, purse in hand, as the rapidly increasing amount of questions flooded his mind, fear crippling him.

Why did I come here?
A young girl walked through the newly restored city. It seemed as though nothing around her had changed from the last time she was there, all those years ago. The people were still friendly, the city was still full, and the markets were well-off. It seemed as comfortable as any large town, despite the popularity of their entertainment businesses. Tourists from all around flocked to this city to get a taste of the high life, and more than often the city's main income was from people outside the city. Anyone could make this town their home, as anyone was welcomed there. It seemed like the perfect city.
To Sakura, however, this town harbored dark memories of her happy past: the past before her time with Phantom Cloak, the past before the disappearance of her beloved brother and the destruction of of Griffin Wing. Phantom Cloak did that. Phantom Cloak destroyed her old guild without her even knowing. It happened while she was a member, even. She knew there was nothing she could have done to stop it, but, still, she lamented its destruction. Her left shoulder ached as she walked, the same shoulder where her Phantom Cloak guild tag was located. It forever reminded her of her alliance, forever reminded her of her kidnapping and how Fairy Tail has abandoned her. A chill went through her. The townspeople seemed to happy, but Sakura could never forget the past. Many people died that day, and none of them were from Phantom Cloak.
Sakura's head shot up at the sound of a a woman's voice. If the young girl had anything on her mind previously, it was all gone by now. Now she was a Girl on a Mission, racing through the town at top speed. Her red robe fluttered out around her, but the hood covering her face stayed firmly in place despite the force of the air. With her head lowered, she sprung into action--
It seemed like everything was already taken care of. The thief was sprawled out on the ground, a young boy was holding the purse, and the victim had a rather relieved look on her face. Sakura sighed. So much for redeeming herself. With glowing purple eyes, Sakura watched underneath her hood as the thief attempted to get up and run again, once he realized that his ploy was unsuccessful. Shaking her head, black shadow tendrils grew out of the hooded female's back, going through her clothes without damaging them, and then stretching forward to wrap themselves around the thief. She secured his arms and feet, with another tendril covering his mouth so that he could not scream. They held the wiggling man a few feet above the ground.
"I understand." She walked up to the thief. He was certainly poor, probably someone who had been born into poverty. Sakura felt some responsibility for him, especially since whatever livelihood he had three years ago was utterly destroyed by Phantom Cloak. "You will have a much better life in jail. Food, three times a day. A warm place to sleep. Nothing to do but sit around all day-- and your sentence should be short." She nodded. "Make an honest man out of yourself. You'll feel better. You'll be happier." She winked. "Not to mention the ladies love a clean man."
Without letting the man reply, she walked to the young boy who had grabbed the man's purse. "Good job." She praised him, still holding the wiggling thief a few feet behind her. Her hood covered her face, but enough could be seen to see her glowing purple eyes. "Give the woman back her purse, and then we can go to the police station to deliver this guy." She told.

Be the Legend That the World Wants You to Be Indignation --- Auvic words: 403 ❥ SHE SPOKE WITH a forwardness and ease Nikolai couldn't properly process. Just a few moments ago, she had attacked and restrained the assailant, and now she was giving him orders. He didn't even know her, and she spoke as if the pair was supposed to work together. True, he was part of the situation, but was it necessary for him to help deliver the man she easily contained. He urged his body to move, to run and distance himself from the situation. Yet he was a statue. His body rebelled, remaining in place. His eyes shifted, avoiding contact as he quick handed over the purse. He didn't look at anyone, fear gripping him by the throat. He was surrounded, and had the attention of several people. It was odd. He had done was he intended; helped someone and prevented a crime. Yet the results stung, all the attention it gave him burning into him.
A moment passed, and he summed up enough effort to regain control of his motions. He attempted eye contact, but was met with the unnatural glow and cowered, unable to maintain it. He could sense power, and he knew Kowan could as well. He was unnaturally quiet now, most likely summing up his options. The woman before him was strong, much stronger than himself, and had already shown how easily she could capture him if she wished. He swallowed, attempting to quell the fear and speak. "A-A-Alright..." It was all he could manage, and it even it was interrupted by a stutter. He needed help, something to calm him. 'What should I do? Do I followed her? Do I try and run for it? Kowan, what's the best option?!' The fear was being replaced with panic now. He sought a mental response from Kowan desperately, to calm him and guide him. 'Follow her for now. Be courteous and friendly. She's not hostile, so we best stay in her good graces. Do whatever she asks.' This was unlike Kowan. Normally he would avoid people stronger than them, but even he seemed to recognize the unlikeness of avoiding her. He swallowed again, forcing out another response. "So wh-what should I do? H-How can I help?" He smiled, genuine and innocent. He did want to be helpful and friendly, and was trying his best to keep his fear from preventing that.

The young girl watched as the boy handed over the purse. He seemed nice enough, but from the way he was acting, she would have guessed that he was also in on the heist. Someone that nervous had to have something to hide, or at least something to be afraid of.
Something to be afraid of? Sakura cast a glance over her shoulder, looking at the man she subdued with her tendrils. She could see him twitching around in the shadows, but for the most part his moving was extremely limited. Was that scary? No, scary was being robbed on the side of the street without any one to help you. After, all she had just captured a criminal, and for once, she was not the criminal herself. Sakura did not even have to show off her magic to fight the thief, as he was a non-magic user. So why was this boy acting all weird? Sakura just didn't understand. The only logical explanation was that he was also a criminal. In that case, she definitely needed to bring him to the police station.
"How can you help?" Sakura laughed, looking back again at the criminal hovering behind her. "Well, just in case this guy gets loose, I'll need you here to trip him up again!" Of course, she would not actually need his help, but if he was in on the crime, she could not just let him walk free. She laughed again, giving him a friendly punch on the shoulder. She took her hand back in surprise, shaking it to relieve the pain. "You must-- uh, work out!" she looked quizzically at her hand. That guy was so scrawny, how could his muscles be so solid?! Was he carrying some sort of weapon?
"Anyways, let's get to the station. Come along." She grabbed his hand, pulling him forward. She was not going to let him get away when she wasn't looking. "It'll be fun."

Be the Legend That the World Wants You to Be Indignation --- Auvic words: 408 ❥ SHE WAS INTIMIDATING. Nikolai couldn't hide his fear from her, not that he was doing a very good job to begin with. She was oblivious to her own nature it seemed, or had simply accepted it. The tendrils, locking and consuming a mans freedom, and yet she smiled at him. Was she rotten? Or was she simply ignorant? Neither was particularly good, to be fair. It all unnerved him. He wanted to distance himself, but it seemed like a poor choice. An awkward laugh, trying to push away his thoughts and hide them. He couldn't rule out she read minds.
She punched him, friendly intent but he panicked. She'd figure him out. The result was as expected, shock and disbelief. No one ever expected his mass, his weight. It was hard to conceal it to begin with. He felt bad, she hurt herself off him. Was that his fault? His hand stroked the back of his neck, starring towards her but still avoiding eye contact. "It's uhhhh, p-passtime, I supposed." Another forced laugh. He felt crippled, like a mouse before a snake. Was she toying with him? She grabbed his hand, freezing his entire body, and pulled. This hand happened before, and was another major sign to his reality. He tried to move with her, to hide the weight, but he couldn't force motion fast enough. There was a moment, a dull tug on him, as if she was trying to move a statue. He jumped forward, trying to obscure it, but there's no way she didn't notice.
He freed his hand, looking around awkwardly. He needed a distraction. Forcing words out his lips, banishing them from his mind in a seemingly chaotic mess. "W-W-Well, I-I never th-though-assumed that I would be able to actually help someone. While I was tr-trapped here, I assumed I'd help a lot of people... And yet all I did was create more problems. At least I did something, even if mediocore." He smiled, innocent and genuine. Pride radiated off him. Even for such a small act, he felt great. He helped someone. "I normally str-struggle to even talk to people, so knowing that I was of help makes me feel great." He blushed slightly, embarrassed by his own words. He was speaking to distract her, but it was from the heart. He was still smiling softly, an unintentional cuteness.

Sakura frowned. She really just did not get why the boy was acting so weird. Why was he so timid? Why did he feel like he was harboring an extremely heavy weapon? Why did he seem so innocent? Sakura just could not get her head around it.
"Oi." Her tone was different now, less friendly than it was before. If he was not going to come with her to the police station, then she would have to use force-- especially since it seemed that he was carrying a weapon. "Look at me when you're talking." She walked up close to the boy, looking up at him with her arms crossed over her chest. She grabbed his chin, making sure that at least his face was pointed in her direction. Her purple eyes glared at him intensely from underneath her hood.
"You created problems? It seemed like you just helped this woman. Was I wrong?" She stared at him hard, before turning her head away with a short tch. She did not wait for him to respond, and instead released her hand from his face. She turned away. "We need to go to the police station."
Suddenly, five more shadow tendrils emerged from her back, springing like coiled snakes to seize Nikolai. Four wrapped around his each of his arms and legs, while the last coiled up his body and lifted him into the air.
"You're heavy." Sakura narrowed her eyes. "Too heavy. Hand over your weapon and tell me what your intentions are, or else I will forcibly extract the weapon from your body." The tendrils raised Nikolai against a wall, stretching his arms and legs out straight from his body. She glared from underneath her cloak, pulling the hood down further as people stopped and stared. They were curious about the situation, but from the thief she had captured earlier, they were hesitant to call foul play. Sakura just kept on looking at the older boy, glaring with her bright purple eyes.
