Purpose of Guilds and what they are
The purpose of a Guild is to give Mages the ability to take jobs and make a living. It is also a place for Mages to hone their skills and their defense against Dark Guilds and their members. It should be noted, guilds can come in many forms, but will only become an official light guild when they are approved by The Council. Light guilds do not need to be stationed in one little city, they can have numerous locations around Fiore. There are even some wandering Guilds who prefer to wander around the world rather than having a fixed base somewhere. The location of a guild is entirely up to a guild master, they can choose to have the guild base at sea, in a mountain side, in a forest, or in the center of a city - it is entirely customizable.
All legal guilds are connected and from time to time have meetings in which they come together, generally in Clover. This is a chance for Guilds Master to pass information to one another and keep on good terms with each other. It should be noted that legal Guilds are not allowed to go to war with each other. If any legal Guild does this, the Council normally steps in and will disband both guilds.
All guilds have only one Guild Master. The Guild Master is the boss of the guild and he/she takes responsibility of all actions taken by members, even if a Guild member destroys a building or kills someone. Guild Masters are typically very powerful and often the strongest mage in their respective guilds. Some Guild Masters are even members of the Ten Wizard Saints.
Dark Guilds or Illegal Guilds are guilds not approved by The Council. They do what they want, wherever, and whenever. They are enemies of the World Government (The council) and all Light (legal) Guilds. Each Dark Guild has their own purpose and goals. Often shady business. Most illegal guilds come similar origins, in which guilds the members were originally involved in were dissolved, and their Guild Master arrested. Sometimes, the Guild Master will even break out of prison on their own or with help from a guild member, in order to form a new Dark Guild to pick up from where they left off (and potentially seek revenge).
How to make a Guild?
To make a light guild or dark guild you need to fill out the template for creating guilds. A staff member will then look it over and see if it is acceptable. However, before the Guild gets it's own board on the site (this will act as their main base) the guild must be active for at least a month. Also, the Guild needs at least three active members.
I made the Guild, but how do I do missions?
You first need to make a list of repeatable or special (one time only missions and such) missions in the custom board. A staff member will approve them and then you can make a thread with those approved missions in your guild board, which you can pm a staffer to sticky. After that, you and your guild members will always go to that thread to take missions.
