Name: Insect Extermination Rank: D Objective: Fiore is filled with many, many different kinds of monsters the inhabit the land. Unfortunately, they have been causing a lot of interference in everyday life, so their numbers need to be thinned. Head to Technicolor village, and reduce the number of giant insects in the gardens. Reward: 50J It had been a while since she had done her last mission within Onibas mall. Due to the absolute chaos of the situation, and the outbreak of DCD, perhaps wasn't incredibly surprising that she hadn't been caught by any authorities. That is why she had gotten the opportunity to take on another mission. It seemed that the amount of people dying within the woods, were causing an incredible amount of insects to thrive. So she had been given a small container with pesticides that she could go around and pump onto any hives of termites, ants, mosquitoes or the like that she could find. Especially hives or swarms of locusts were targetted, as they were eating the farmers crops left and right, and lord knew that food would be needed when so many were sick and unable to work. Even if Astra wasn't in the best of shapes herself, she felt like she needed the money, and as such, she was now walking around within the sleeping forest, looking for anything that was out of the ordinary. Which, aside from the smell of death, wasn't much of anything at all. Though, there were clear signs that the insect population had increased, because every single plant, tree and branch had chew marks from something attempting to get a quick snack. Starting to see a pattern there, deep within the woods, Astra started following the paths that seemed to show a larger amount of devoured vegetation. It was a clear sign that there was some kind of hive close by.
Though, the closer Astra got to the source, the more intense the devouring seemed to have been. At one point, there were trees that had actually been taken a munch out of. It seemed that whichever insects she were hunting had grown to an unbeliveable size. This surely couldn't be a good thing!
Skill Name: Eyes of the Heavens Description: As a Valkyrie, Astra has a natural aptitude at judging an opponents strenght and threat level. It allows her to judge wheter she stands a chance, or wheter she is outclassed completely. The eyes grant the same information about casted spells.
Skill Name: Eyes of the High Heavens Description: The Valkyrie are those chosen by the gods, who shall watch the battles of the mortals, judging the mortals as worthy or unworthy to enter the divine halls. It is through this knowledge, that Astra has gained an insane insight into combat, allowing her to react faster and make better decisions than an average person.
Skill Name: Heroic Presssence Desciption: Astra's pressence can be felt on the battlefield. Capable of inspiring herself or any chosen ally, the effects of poison, paralysis, sleep and fear can be temporarily ignored. Once the effect of Heroic Pressence fade, the entire backlash from any such effects are felt immediately. (Three turns before backlash kicks in)

Unfortunately, they have been causing a lot of interference in everyday life, so their numbers need to be thinned. Head to Technicolor village, and reduce the number of giant insects in the gardens. Reward: 50J What met her when she came closer, was the termite home of all termite homes. The mound for the termites itself was the size of a small outpost tower. The exit was large enough that a person could narrowly squeeze inside, and the termites themselves were the size of overgrown dogs. Standing there, flabbergasted, it truly seemed like she needed something more powerful than pesticide. One thing became awfully clear too, however. With such a home, and the size of the inhabitants, the actual number of termites that could be bred of such size within these woods could only be a handful. Taking a deep breath and gathering her strenght, Astra clapped her hands together. When she moved them apart, forming between her palms, was a black spear. The spearhead itself was covered in spikes, meant to lacerate and mutilate anyone who got hit by her strikes. The backend was light and flexible, allowing for quick turns and easy usability in narrower areas. It was the only weapons she had that she could reliably wield within the nest. Crawling closer, the Valkyrie was peeking inside the darkness of the mound. Certainly this wasn't going to end well, but it had to be done. Squeezing herself inside the entrance of the mound, the interior was slightly bigger, allowing her to stand and walk around normally. It made sense, as the termite drones would need to carry around food and larvae that sometimes were larger than the drones themselves.
Raising her spear, she began her descent into the darkness below. The Valkyrie armor that she was wearing shimmered lightly, allowing her to see the path ahead of her. In this darkness, she could hear the jibbering of termite jaws. It was almost like stepping directly into one of her worst nightmares. If the termites had been cockroaches, she would've already turned around and left with a loud nope!

Unfortunately, they have been causing a lot of interference in everyday life, so their numbers need to be thinned. Head to Technicolor village, and reduce the number of giant insects in the gardens. Reward: 50J The clattering of the termite jaws seemed to constantly increase as she headed downwards into the mound, and it didn't take long before she came upon her first opponent. It was, quite frankly, enormous. Its head was darkened and hardened, like some kind of metal armor. The jaws were clacking and chattering, as it came moving up through the termite tunnel. It had sensed the invader, and had come to protect its home and its queen. Astra, astounded by the size of the insect, jabbed it to the face with her spear. However, she was incapable of penetrating its hardened plate. Instead her attacks seemed to simply bounce off it, as the termite continued ascending towards her, trying to reach and bite her with its jaws. Retreating back upwards through the tunnel, she would've easily dealt with this foe if she had been able to fully use her magic. As it was however, she needed to find some kind of alternative. With her eyes, she identified that the back part of the termite was less stiff and hardened. In fact, it seemed to be almost soft and strikeable. It meant that if she could somehow reach over the insect and strike at its back, she would be able to take it down more easily. Getting close enough to strike at the back however, also brought her in range of the jaws...
Taking a chance, she stepped forwards, causing the termite to close its jaws in an attempt to bite her. When the jaws closed, she narrowly evaded the attempt, before stepping forwards to the side of the jaws. Unable to attack without first pulling back, Astra simply stuck close to the termite, striking it at its softer backside multiple times. The squealing and screeching in pain would've surely alerted all the other termites in the den, yet noone seemed to respond to its call. A few moments later, the insect gave up its struggle. The gooey yellow blood was running downwards, and the stench was awful.. Yet Astra pushed on, undeterred.

Unfortunately, they have been causing a lot of interference in everyday life, so their numbers need to be thinned. Head to Technicolor village, and reduce the number of giant insects in the gardens. Reward: 50J Strangely, the bottom of the termite mound seemed to be strangely lit up with luminessence. There was a subtle orange light coming from the dephts below, and a strange sound that could only be of something enormous breathing. What Astra came upon, was many times worse than she had initially suspected. There was a reason why, within t he tunnels during her approach, that only a single termite had attempted to defend its hive. The others simply hadn't hatched yet. Upon the walls in this termite inner-sanctum, were enormous orange eggs, pulsating with the unborn insects inside. The eggs were easily the size of a person, and in the middle of it all, was the termite queen. The front of her wasn't much larger than Astra was. The swollen back-end however, was three or four times wider than the head, and about twenty times as long, meaning the queen termite had the size of a small truck. If all of these eggs were allowed to hatch, there would likely be enough termites that they could pose a serious threat to Onibas. Taking a couple of steps around, the queen was aware of Astra's pressence, yet due to her pregnant state, there wasn't much the insect could do to stop Astra from doing whatever she pleased. The eggs that had been laid were likely to burst open within a couple of days at the most. There wasn't much else that could be done than complete extermination. Clapping her hands together, the Valkyrie started gathering magical power. The only thing that could be done, was to make the entirety of the mound collapse onto this breeding ground. The queen and all of her eggs would have to be crushed if South Fiore was going to recuperate after this Deadly Crows disease. Firing a dark beam at the ceiling, Astra turned around and immediately began to run for the surface. The entire mound started quaking, caving in, crushing the insects within...
...On the surface, Astra narrowly managed to escape before she would've been dragged into the collapsing earth below. Peering behind her, she brushed herself off. A mission well done, certainly.
